Got my new 3.0 NW!

A coupple of days ago, i asked you guys/girls here for an advice. I asked you of wich one to choose of the P4 2.8GHz M0 or a P4 3.0GHz uknown stepping. Well, after some answers i finally decided to go for the 3.0GHz!

Today i got it!!

Here is some numbers for ya ;)

Ive been testing it for a coupple of hours now. Right atm im running it on 3,75GHz 1,575v. I have runned it for 3 hours in prime95 with 100% load woth no errors! I use the BOXED cooler, the temperatures are 62C idle and max load 64C. It's a little hot, but as long as its stable, i dont give a §§§§ :p:

I haven't abortet prime yet, because im gonna test it for a few hours, but so far, with 3 hours in prime, it looks good!

The ram runns on 5:4 (200MHz) 2-2-2-6.

In super pi 1M calc, i get 38sec

That's awesome. How did the capacitors look underneath? Like the prescott or Gallatin? My old 2.4b used B0 stepping and looked like the Gallatin with 1 missing. my new 2.8b D1 stepping looks like prescott.

Nice, you were lucky with that chip! You wil probbaly see 4Ghz+ with water on it..

Only one thing, wery odd temps you have.. the difference between idle and load is supposed to be MUCH more than 2c..

And the idle should not be that high, even with the stock cooler, unless your room is like 30c lol

I forgot to say that the idle temp i used above here is with 2 prime running...the windows idle temps are arround 44C.

I dont have any better cooling atm... :( in april im buying some watercooling or vappochill, so then i will see what this beast can do!:D

I will run some 3dmark2k1 for you later, i have 9600XT (sig)...it's an OK card ;)

It was too hot for me to even run at higher voltages, at 1,6v 4.05GHz the CPU had a temperature of 43C in BIOS. The room temp was 13C.

The CPU ran threw all the tests i put it threw, i forgot to run 2k1, but i ran 2k3 for ya. see sig ;)

that is insane!! so prime stable aswell? looks like you have a 5ghz cpu there :slobber:

i didn't test it in prime because my mom whent insane when she saw that i had the windows open in the middle of the night, and that it was 12C in my room! :p:

I ran the CPU threw lots of tests, sisoft, CPU mark, super pi, 3dmark2k3 and PC mark, there wasn't a sign for unstability. ;)

You have no idea how much i whant some ln2 right now! How much does it cost? and where to get it? :p:

sl6WU? ...the bottom has the same design as the "M0" ones

all the higher end D1's have the same cap arrangement as the M0 ones

Gef, your cpu isnt even listed under the procspec finder of intel. only SL6Wk. maybe you have some E.T. cpu in your hands...:D

well it *should* have all the released CPU's on it. but since you have a 3.0, you probably have a special "custom" processor :D

yea probably... i bet there using the same cores as there 3.4ghz counterparts

my 2.8 has D1 stepping but's it's missing a lot of caps, which is strange. maybe it's a good core, and from the middle of the wafer , not a failed EE.

The ones that share similarities with the EE are the M0 stepping, not the D1.

They are real killers :)

the back of it looks like a P4EE? is it an m0 stepping chip?
is your hsf seated well? 65°C load sound very hot.

CPU-Z says D1 stepping. The hsf is seated like it should be, i know its hot and i use the thermalpad, but its stable :)

Later this week i will give it some as5

Im going to run it like this for 24/7 use, my ram fits it just like that! 1:1 250MHz 2-2-2-6 :D

how much volt do you throw at it?

I used 1,6v hitting 4055MHz :D

I have SL78Z stepping on my 3.0C.. thats wierd too :D

My 3GHz SL6WU (L342) is 3DMark 2001 stable at 3,8Ghz with 1,58V (Cant go higher due to my crapy PSU). Cpu voltage is moving betven 1,54-1,62 (in Bios @ 1.6V on Asus P4C800-E deluxe). I must do Vdropp i think?

is it me or the 3.0C OC very good now?

Right now i am reaching more 30mhz then in the pic cuzz before i didn't have my psu modded and i was without the droop mod of my p4c800...

I can even enter windows at 3900 but a lot of erros in services of xp...

Got to try clockgen later to see if i can boot at that speed...

If i'm not wrong, before when i used to have it at 3780 on windows sandra told me 106w... if my memory isn't cheating me...i didn´t see yet at 3855...got to install sandra to check later...

Now, I don't have a motherboard for this yet, it'll be in a P4P800, anyone have experience with this chip? Btw it has the "new" bottom look, like the one that was pictured in this thread.

I have 2 of those SL6Z5.
One does 3650Mhz, 1.675V, air cooled on my IC7-G.
The other does 3.7Ghz, 1.60V, WC on my P4C800-E.

Think that you should be able to reach those speeds, maybe even higher.

Just got meself one of those SL6WU 3.0G NW yesterday as well.

Had the chance to test it in my Max3 today with the boxed cooler, I too got 15x250fsb 5/4 @ 1.575v.

Seems to be okay this CPU. Haven't tested it in my Vapo yet as I killed my IC7-G (mobo in Vapo) while trying to set this CPU in it.

So bloody hard to change a CPU with this Vapo, after 4 hours of trying to boot up the Vapo, afetr resating the CPU & Vapo so many times I ended up killing my poor mobo (best mobo I have as well).

Oh well, gonna be spending the next couple of days getting this p.o.s Max3 up to spec (vmods) & the I'll have a crack at seeing how high this 3.0Ghz baby can go...

Not too bad result with this 3.0 CPU with just the stock cooler, already higher than my best with my trusty ol' 2.6....

Their good indeed. Running at 248 FSB at 1.525. Watercooled.

Funny thing is that I can't get it over 250 even with 1.7 Vcore (lol)

I had picked up a 3.2C from GoogleGear 2-3 weeks ago with a stepping of SL792, and it has the same cap pattern as my M0 stepping 2.4C CPU-Z shows it as a D1 though just as your SL6WU's do.

Unfortunately I haven't seen as good results as these chaps, but I still have some things I need to sit down and fiddle with. 3840 has been my highest stable boot speed at 1.625v with plain water and 25°c ambient. Last night I tried up to 1.7v and it would boot into windows at 4ghz but would error as soon as I went to load on a bench. I really feel I need to do this droop mod and quick.

ok, have done some testing with my 3.0C SL6WU, L350A776.

Zalman 7000cu: 3600MHz, 1.55vcore, dual Prime stable, after that serious heat issues.
Watercooling (WW, 3x120mm, Eheim 1250): 3950MHz, 1.7vcore, dual Prime stable.
Prommy Mach1: 4100MHz, 1.675vcore, dual Prime stable.

My 3.2C (SL792) does 3.7Ghz stable on stock volts
@ 1.8v I can get into windows at 4Ghz but not stable I think its a power issue because games run for awhile then it freezes...

I guess all the stores has the new SL6WU, its the only one Intel produce's of the 3.0C. Try contacting the webshop's and ask them. If they dont, the next shipment will be with them ;)

don't seem to go any higher, tried 255x15 but even with 1.675 it just freezes after 2-3 minutes into prime

using watercooling, temps never go higher than 36°C under load.

Does anyone know if ExcaliburPC or NewEgg can guarantee or supply a SL6WU? I'm really thinking of getting this or a 3.0E, i want as close to 4GHz on water as I can get.

I guess it's pretty possible the 4,0 ghz on water, i'm doing right now 3911 fully 3dmark stable, 3927 is fully stable in window's...didn't tried 3d applications at that speed...

If its me you're refering to, its a 3.0C yes! I found mine at www.hardwarebutikken.no its an norwegian website! ;)

I get my sl6wu in portugal

Almost every webshop in Norway has them, so i think that the posibility for you guys to get them is pretty big.

I would use mail and ask before i ordered one.

I'm thinking that as long as the shipment for the 3.0Ghz chips is recent, then the chances of getting the SL6WU is pretty good to high.

Maybe even take a pic of the box that someone has posted up & email it to the shop you intend to purchase it from so that they could check it for themselves.

If I was working at a shop & got a request, I'd be more than happy to find out for my customers...Thats just me though, some others wouldn't know the difference in aphabet letters....

BTW, I've found a sweet spot for my 3.0Ghz SL6WU....278fsb - 4.17Ghz @ 1.65v in my stock Vapo PE TI...

Got 25.1K recently, haven't uploaded my results yet...Kinda expecting more of it as my 2.6c @ 3.74Ghz got 24.1K.

Not sure what I'll be running it 24/7 though...278fsb, BH5 @ 224, 2-5-2-2 @ 3.4v/1.7vtt, GAT @ auto, enhanced, 5 clocks, enabled, enabled...

My other option is to run 250fsb @ 1.575v, BH5 @ 250fsb, 2-5-2-2 @ 3.4v/1.7vtt, GAT @ turbo, enhanced, 5 clocks, enabled, enabled...

Been running the new Memtest86+ v1.1 for the last 31 hours straight at the 250 settings & no errors so far...Guess I'll have to test it to find my "sweet spot"...:D

Only problem I got now is with my Enermax 460w PSU, did the 3.3v rail mod but not the 5v & 12v mod as there is no sense wires there. MBM5 is reporting 11.45v when running 2 instances of prime95, sometimes my rig will reboot when I try 2 instances of prime95 as well as an hour of 3DMark01SE stress test. Gotta get meself a more powerful PSU...460w just doesn't cut it imo. If only I could do the 5v & 12v mods... Damn I miss my Antec 550w PSU...

Can't get anything better here in OZ:mad: :mad:

Oh well, I'll upload some results from some tests at 5/4 & 1/1 soon....

Alright guys, I got my SL6WU 3.0c in tonight, and one thing is bugging me. The bottom of my chip doesn't look like the one orginally posted. Mine doesn't have all the caps, and has one way outta place looking.

i got myself a SL6WU today ...just installed it 2 mins ago, with stock cooler (stock hsf looks nae bad :D ). I'll put my prommie on it after i've played with it on stock hsf ;)

it is EXACTLY like gef's cpu ...same stepping ...back looks same (with all caps) ...even packdate is the same! :D

booted it out the box @ 225 fsb. priming @ that now.

Want to see the result's of a baby like my in a prommy...
