Redbeard, can you comment on where consumers might buy those SATA+power Connectors that Corsair uses on the back of the hotswap plane in this case? Thanks.
mousepad and keyboard shape somehow fits with obsidian/it's window shape :)
I would turn/place case parallel to windows wall for place in corner to be more usuable.
helix, that desk is real clean  :D
here its my litle monster bild :)

This is how they look like.

I believe that if you look around online or on a auto tunning parts store you will be able to find them. Best of luck...:)
Where do I buy these things separately?
Some nice work in this thread.
I'll have to post mine when I'm finished with it.

It looks good. What type of screws did you use on the top of the case? From the pic it looks like drywall screws.
Good observation! Need some long black screws and used what I had in my toolbox...
Very nice builds everyone
I really want a 800D but can't quite afford one as a student
I want to find out how does the Corsair Obsidian 800d does with dust and dust environments...?

Dealextreme.com sells these led strips real cheap and they have free shipping. I know they have it in blue white and red (but possibly other colors) in 1 meter or 30 centimeters (3 or 1 foot) . you can cut the one with one meter in pieces of 30 cm . Maybe even less I guess.
You should redo the tubing on that build not sure why your gpu inlet is like 5x longer then it needs to be
I know, but its a test setup. made so its easy to add or remove stuff.
Far from complete build.
Sorry for my bad English... im from Denmark :)
omg
i know there are more 800Dīs out there :D dont be shy, Post em

Does this work?
TBH I was going to water cool my 800D but I am sitting here looking at the temp of my overclocked i7 950 (3.5ghz) and it's sitting pretty at a steady 38c. Even my 295GTX is running at 46c @ 40% fan speed.
Admittedly I have taken a 2nd 295 out, for a couple of reasons, 1 they were getting hot (between 45 - 55) and 2 because quad sli really still hasn't been fixed.
I am actually very impressed with the cooling that this case does, especially for air cooling.
so how many rads may carry this case? 4x120 on top and what on bottom, will it be possible to fit 120x3 there?
By default/stock only 3x120 on top, 1x140 on bottom and with some caveats 1x140 on back (some narrower one)
4x120 on top already requires cutting. 120x3 on bottom? Maybe with some short PSU or relocating it somewhere else?
yea i mean with some mod, so it is possile cut and have 4x120 on top
for bottom i saw this pic
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...0&d=1260585143
there are already some powerfull psu on the market with 16cm length, like corsair 950w
so if use this 16cm block, will it be possible to have 2 120x3 rads in the bottom, like in tj-07?
just imagine, one 4x120 on the top and two 3x120 on bottom, such case would be ideal :)
would be cool if there were a 1000D, and it should have 4X120 at the top and place for dual 3x120 + HX1000w psu at botton without mod :D
Yeah it looks like they will... but they are very diferent from mine.
I never used that kind but i have seen them work... be carefull those are not bendable... they are stiff i believe. Mine are more easy to install more "moddable" but i believe final lighting efect is the same.
Here is the 800D case I customized for Hardware Canucks

Of course, this is a work in progress.
can you fit a triple in the bottom of an 800D?
You can. With lot of customisation. Like removing non-hotswap disk enclosure, cutting bottom for extra vent intakes and possibly some limits on PSU max length aswell. IIRC rad should be narrow enough too. I've seen even quad in 800D bottom compartment but it involved even more customisation - removing plastic midle wall and fully moving PSU to case side. In general - imho not worth it. Simpliest is to mod top for quad.
Hello
I, too, processed a 800 D bottom and attempted to establish xspc-480 and xspc-240.

Lots of nice systems in here. I am on the fence with this case. Its between this and a friends Lian Li V2000. Decisions, Decisions.....Input!?!?!
I owned three Rocketfish (Lian Li) cases, and now an 800D. The 800D is an extremely practical design, and it feels to be an even more solid design. The textured powdercoated steel is a better feel than the smooth aluminum interior too. So, my vote is get the 800D.

My first build will be doing watercooling later on in the year
For the 800D owners, do you think you can fit a 140 single rad on the 140mm fan in the bottom easily? I know you can remove the cage and put in a double, but I am curious to see if you can fit the 140 rad w/o mods.
Hello Ogge Swe i think the fans are good here is a vid on youtube of them hope it helps you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmu5Sa1w84I

That looks really nice, huRRi, I wish I had the money to create a setup like that nevermind the amount of effort that is needed :( I always envy those with heavily overclocked i7s and 2 oced 5870s in a water loop, it's common to see these setups with the same exact parts on XS especially with the 800D, but not ones that are as colorful as this ;)
This actually gives me some ideas on what colors I would prefer, I thought that going with the standard blue would look great but now I think orange/UV looks a lot better:yepp:
