Hmmmmm i would like to know where that board came from ??? i want the new version.

No sacrifice in graphics for USB3+SATA6gb,unlike some P55 models.Nice work Gigabyte
Ya, looks like a few sites posted a week ago. Google didn't turn up any for sale. Found it on Gigabyte website while looking for more info on 785GMT-UD2H.
Hi,
I saw this in gigabyte forum in UK as far I was told there this boards shall arrive in two weeks.
http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Mo...ProductID=3258
This is good stuff. I'm not a HUGE fan of the layout for the board. I think the higher end MSI board has a better layout, but this is good too.
I wonder what the cost and OC ability of the board is.
Guess we have to wait a few weeks and im sure somebody will have a review on it.
Hopefully it will be a nice board.
Why have they removed the "P" from the product name? And what does that "P" stand for?
il waiting for next generation :). I wrote to Gigabyte and my qestion was about new series UD6 for AMD. Answer: "yeas, maybe" :)
p0rn  new board is not X rated :p:
In other news I'm liking the larger variety high end supported memory QVL

:-d...
Memory list looks good, i talked with gigabyte today, and they said board will be available in usa in 2 weeks is the launch time.
Yeah I would be all over this (replacing all my 939s) but CC company doubled my interest rate for no fricking reason other than they can. By the time I pay it off 890FX will be out.
i send message to HiCookie but no answer as far :(
I got the info some stores willl get the mboard on 10.12.2009.
Well now available here http://www.ncixus.com/products/47581...-UD5/Gigabyte/ $182 but is it worth it, waiting for reviews.
Just ordered one with the 4GB G.Skill 2000 kit named in the memory support list.
I just hope that the bios isn't that buggy.
Well it is the first bios, so anything can happen, post up a review on it.
Shure I will play with it at the weekend. But there is something bothering me: take a look at the CPU support list. No support for 965 C3 mentioned.
hmmmm, you would think it would have that, maybe not listed, i guess you will find out.
well i wish i would have found this thread b4 i made a new thread on pretty much the same thing (at least a few of my questions got answered here) Chew has already gave it the thumbs up by the looks of things, i think i might order this board (even tho the new bios kinda scares me hopefully they learned from the ud5p and start from there) What about the 965 C3 support? i cant imagine they would of left that out on a NEW board lol
Dragon
Hehe this reminds me of the time I ordered the 790fx-DQ6 (F1 Bios) with a brand new PI 9600. The result was + 50mhz = BSOD : )
Anyway the packet did arrive today and I will post some photos later.
edit: photos over here
@ cc3 any results yet? do u have the UD5P that u can compare it with (or at least had at some point), really interested in this board! Also interested to c how the first bios works out for u
Dragon
Where is the results on this board ?? waiting
just picked up the little brother to this board, the UD4. Very nice so far, and for the record, Mushkin Redline Ascent 12800 CAS6 works perfectly at 1.5v :)
Just a quick test........I was actually testing/loading an 850 watt PSU so this is most likely not max. It was preety much shoot from the hip quick settings that I knew would pass.......not bad for its first time out of the box :)

Ahhh so you have your hands on the new gig board, ok i wait to see what else you post.
I could always buy it and post some numbers. I just have less then great ram which i need to remedy quickly. The OCZ gold series could have been better IMO, but not bad for the price. What RAM you guys using again?
Edit: Looks good Chew*, Your Ram makes me ill.. lol
Im using Corsair GTS 2000 cas 8 4 gig, clocks pretty well, not sure what Chew is using im sure he has all kinds of memory, i only have 1 pair.
here is an optimized BIOS, suggest if you overclocking use this one
http://rapidshare.com/files/321952871/79XTAUD5.HC3.html
i use corsair 1600c6 with chew* optimized memory timings could fly
DDR3-1740 CL6-6-5-18-1T
well done , chew* :D
Chew: so, u can say, this board is better than older MA790FXT-UD5p?
chew* , you forgot your white PCB version of 790FXTA-UD5? :D

http://img693.imageshack.us/img693/1720/dscn6256.jpg
It has many features I requested that could not be changed due to hardware limits with older board. One of those being finer voltage increments.
Yes and for a limted time only you can send your board to me for a Limited Edition White PCB 790FXTA :D
If all the slots were Blue on that board that would be just PURE SEX.:yepp:
I will put this board through its paces shortly for you guys in another thread in the near future.
ATM I am hammering out some more memory on AMD.
well i just ordered this board, can anyone tell me if i made a good choice lol :)
Just grabbed one of these too. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=900672 got that with a megahalem.
Hey does this board have some kinda cold bug? I can change bios's and it seems to get lower temps from which I can boot and work from. Seems like the F2 doesn't want to post after -70c and freezes up in windows. The F1 bios seems to be good to around -110c on my k-probe. =o\ Any insights?
The modded bios from hicookie is there some one ho has it because it is not in the link anymore i am getting the board tomorrow
that bios was not very good for me
i ended up reverting back to F2 and found better speed Riska and matched the current W.R. in 1M SuperPi with lower CPU clocks :)
Ok thanks man great news i am going to bench ln2 on it i the weekend and have a 965C3 week 44 and a 965C2 week 32 and they both do 6300mhz+ 3d on my Msi 790FX-GD70 so i will hope this board will do better
the new ud4 along with 965BE was on sale for $200 at Fry's Electronics on Christmas day.
AMD Overdrive doesn't appear to work with the F2 or hicookie bios.
Well Hopefully Gigabyte rectifies this problem with a New improved Bios update cause I just got My motherboard Today.
um I purchased this Board with the understanding of this being Gigabytes Top of the Line enthusiast AMD3 board. IS there going to be Proper Strong Bios support here. I mean I do understand this Board is less than 2 months OLD and so bugs need to be worked out etc.. My last 2 boards were high end MSI's and that company always had updated Bios.
i dont have any issues with my board
Glad to hear:) it's just that people have been b1tching here saying the BIOS is not up to spec yet etc.. One person even said gigabyte is weak with there BIOS support. I originally Purchased Gigabyte cause I was under the impression there a solid company with good support.
It's my first time owning a board from this company, as I am used to ASUS and MSI.
Thank you guys for dispelling rumors, as well as easing my worries.
you should be making your own opinions rather than let someone else make them for you imo
I agree. It's just since I am still finishing off the final customizations on my pc, I have not had really any time to test the board out throughly.
I have an important question for all OWNERS of this boards. In the Manual on page 25, it suggests using slots 1 & 2 for 2 sticks of DDR, this is correct. Then they go on to to say "to use slots 3 & 4 for 1600+ speeds on 2 sticks of DDR", is this an error in the manual. Are they trying to say that 1600+ speeds are not achievable using more than 2 DIMMs and if you want to achieve those speeds you must use slots 3 and 4 only?
The prefereed slots are rear slots for ocing. Preety sure the cpu's actually publically only support 4x dimms at 1333, that said they are stating what they are told to state via AMD's spec.
They say stuff to cover there hiney's more so for users using non c3 cpu's that had an errata that was adressed in c3 rev.
Hands are tied atm, not much I can do to help, can't run AOD from bios, can't boot to OS with no hard drives....sorry.
I am looking at this board for my upgrade from my M3A to this mobo or Crosshair III.
Looking at the supported memory list it shows a handful at 1600 and up, but notes downgraded to 1666. Does this mean it won't OC to the noted number on the sticks given the right amount of juice?
Any opinions on the two boards too? USB 3.0 on this sounds nice, but will I enjoy that feature?
Well I pulled the trigger and ordered this one today and should get next week. Coming from the Asus M3A will I am sure take some getting used to.
Are there any guides out there for OCing on Gigabyte boards?
With a 940BE?
You need a new CPU to run this board!
Good layout...and clocks good also!!!
no f3 bios yet to address AOD with F2. I'm getting unimpressed.
how to get AOD work with f2 bios ? With my OLD ud5p i managed to run 6350 mhz 3dmark 06 - some old runs
http://hwbot.org/community/submissio...70_22593_marks
edit: my GTR memorys wont OC on this FXTA :S with fxt-ud5p it was fine.
edit2: can someone help me ? :D
Hmmm no problem with GTS, maybe you crammed to much volts into your GTR's and they are weak now?
http://www.hwbot.org/signature.img?i...se&iehack=.jpg
Same issue with Overdrive here on XP, it starts no problem; but only reads out ram settings; not a single voltage; can't change any voltages and only CPU multi is available... luckily there's ET6... will try other OSses soon
CSX Diablos are a pain in the butt on this board... requires far too much voltage (2.35)to be bench stable (doing 1980Mhz on the REX with C7 at 2.1volts lol)... testing GTX2's now, far more stress on the IMC... have to drop NB speeds under air... MSI GD70 is a tad more stable with slightly lower voltages...
Any tips for the Corsairs Chew ?
Hmmm well for me I found c3 to be a tad more sens to ram voltage......
2.3v for ram?
heh a little overboard.
Max I have ever needed is 2.15 with proper tuning.......d9's not to great for 3d, drop to 7-7-7 1800 they will pass 3d fine, also 7-6-6 or 7-6-5
leeghoofd, without directly just planting my bench settings on the net ( which won't happen ) elpida likes to be driven weak.
I'm aware of the AOD issues, will see if I can speed them up on fixing it, I already made them aware that BE memory profiles are not working, likely related issue.
Thx for the tip, complete AMD n00b here ram wise... Till now Giga outperforms the MSI for max ram clocks with the GTX2's... will need to dig in further....
Last issue I had a few times was after a overclock recovery it kept the 10X multi no matter what I set in the bios for the NB speed... back into the bios change the value to one higher and lower and all is okay then... you going via Raymond Chew for bios tech talk ?
Not impressed at the length of time it is taking for Gigabyte to release BIOS update. FFS this is there Top end AM3 board you would think a little support would be in order. I took a risk when purchasing from this compnay as I was going to get the Tried and tested MSI GD70. Coming from using MSI for years(good bios Support) I expected more from this Company. Other than lack of updates, the Board is feature rich+Sound and allows me to overclock with great stability and temps.
As it stands right now I would Probably Buy an MSI next time. Not that this is a bad board, far from it. It's just I tend to fancy manufactures that are more involved/engaged in there products. The so called 3rd party Gigabyte support forum forgot the url is a far cry from what MSI had.
Hopefully my perception on this matter might change in the future if Gigabyte actually bothers to expel more effort into the support of this board. I am also hoping they will be able to fix some other serious Issues that are not present in the MSI and ASUS AM3 board. Go read my post about Gigabyte Boards and MS-AHCI drivers.
waiting for new bios. I hope ther is better memory compapility with new bios and AOD bug is fixed.
edit: I tryd to run some super pi 32m with 900 mhz 7-6-6-18 Diablo gtr 2.15v and it runs fine ! But 3d wont even run @ 820 mhz WTF??! :S
i dont get memory 3d stable, stock is fine, but little OC and 3d wont run stable.
I heard, that is the difference between the "two" pieces of motherboards in overcloking. Its true? The same CPU on one board example 3990MHz top and at second at 4020MHz example.
I have run my 955BE C3 on one M4A79 Deluxe board and also GA-790FXTA-UD5 the difference is to small...+-5-10mhz not more its more about the paste on the cpu.
But maybe some boards gives abit more vcore on same settings..then give you some mhz more....But i realy think this days the diffrence is not much.
It takes time, but it pays off and for me tweaking memory is the main part in the overclocking I do. I memtested 3 days straight when I got my AMD setup just to work out some basic settings....
still no luck to get my memory stable. Tryed my Corsair 1866 cl7 mem ( gtr or gts ) and same problem. no stability, only stock speed is fine.
Blue or white slots ? Blue slots are far more stable then white slots on my board...
anybody got bios screen shots for the memory?
was curious as what the ranges of settings were for volts and dividers
ah found great review of up close pics and bios settings
http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/...ds/2004_4.html
Damn , bad bios support from gigabyte (N) we want new bios! :D
Tried yesterday all nite to get over 1700mhz with the Corsair GTX2's, no go... I can go over 1800 dead easy with ganged mode, but I prefer unganged :D
Will crosscheck with the MSI GD70 this week (to rule out my CPU), MSI Nl is advised of my findings, let's hope something comes through...
We even tried on LN2 at -100°c (massman was here) last monday, errors out on memtest 5 ( 10-160 errors ) each time... 1702 was max here (recap that I'm an AMD nOOb) any higher and windows stopped loading, froze, etc... we messed with the strenghts and co, but did not find the magical setting (yet). Rams are fine ( did 2100Mhz C7 on I7 ) My air tests are almost completed will pass the board to Pj for some more cold tests...
This was on the bad batch of hypers. My GTX 2 are a heck of alot better but i need to finish up a review on them first before i beat them up.
Same board, f2 bios, weak IMC chip bad elpida batch 1866 c7.
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/brazil/32...test%20run.png
I'm overlooking something then in the bios for sure (even went command rate 2, looser timings) I'm stunned and perplexed now Brian...
I can't believe there's not an f3 bios out. seriously.
No clue i sent out emails.
no :banana::banana::banana::banana:.. I finaly managet to get my D9GTR csx diablo chips run 900 mhz 7-6-5-20 1t @ 2.2v It seems, that motherboard have problems with my MSI HD4850 bench card  switched cards and 3d runs fine.
Arghh, still waiting for newer bios!
Any new bios for FXTA?
what's the issue with your board? why do you need a bios update?
got a alpha/beta, will install it as soon as I can... no idea if I can distribute it... keep you posted
