More and stable power to the digital PWM allowing higher overclocks. PWM should handle some crazy loads, just check out the video.
http://vr-zone.com/articles/evga-x58....html?doc=6361
amazing, also that picture with X-Fi card + 3 SLI + PhsyX is sick...
Forget the video...the 10-phase Volterra implementation looks more involved than DFI, the power levels are higher, the frequencies higher, and it has 4 phase memory power, also apparently adjustable to high levels.
If the build quality is there, this could easily be one of the OC champs. More importantly, it may be a better OC board with more marginal processors and memory sticks.
Looks amasing, I just don't want to know the price of this beauty :p
A few minor aethetics nitpicks but:
Paint those red slots green
Ship a black i/o backplate a la asus.
And holy :banana::banana::banana:, I didn't even see the 9800GT in there at first, took me a minute to find it.
I like the black cpu socket.
launch it already . . . I need a replacement for my Giga Extreme and am not thrilled with any of the current X58 boards!!!
all hail to lord shamino :bows:
are there power supplies that have 2 8 pin connectors? Last time I checked there were none
My 1200w Pc Power and Cooling supply does :D I cannot think of any more that have 2 8 pin connecters at the moment.
Most 1000+ watt power supplys have two

EVGA's classified X58 motherboard unveiled
possibly the "For The Win" edition?
by AuDioFreaK39
Living overclocking legend Peter Tan "Shamino" has just recently posted on his popular site VR-Zone a classified preview detailing of EVGA's upcoming X58 motherboards. For the die hard EVGA enthusiasts, speculate no more, as this may be the X58 "FTW" edition board we have all been waiting for.
According to sources close to EVGA, however, the soon to be released board does not currently have a name. Therefore, the "FTW" moniker will become useless as soon as the official product name is revealed. Currently, Shamino has the board labeled as the "EVGA X58 SLI Classified" in his preview, which ironically mean that this is in perhaps the real name. However, only time will tell, as no release date information has been revealed yet. We are anticipating this board before mid-February mainly because this timeframe would allow current EVGA X58 SLI owners to upgrade through EVGA's Step-Up Program.
There are more than several exciting new noteworthy features on this board that are now able to be mentioned. For instance, the board allows full 3-way SLI nForce 200 x16/x16/x16 style to be used with room left over for a PCI-E x1 audio card on the top slot. This essentially enables a flexible PCI-Express slot arrangement for the ultimate 3-Way SLI + PhysX + audio card setup that enthusiasts have only dreamed of up until now.
For users with water cooled or extreme cooled GPU setups, there are now four PCI-Express Enable/Disable jumpers, one per slot, that allow multi-GPU setups to be troubleshooted without having to take out the cards.
In addition, the CPU core power circuitry has been completely redesigned with Super-low ESR and ESL Film Capacitors placed right behind the CPU Socket, so only the cleanest power goes into the CPU. A high-quality CPU socket is also used, with three times the normal amount of gold content for the lowest impedance and highest current transfer. Furthermore, it is complemented by its slick shiny black anodized coloring.
Furthermore, VR-Zone's X58 SLI Classified preview article was written by EVGA's lead motherboard engineer Peter Tan "Shamino" can be found here.
I wonder about slot placement on boards like these. Why even include a PCI slot anymore? Anyone who buys this board is going to want to populate all four slots anyway so the PCI slot is just taking up space. The only use PCI even has is for older soundcards.
the thermaltake 1000w has an 8 pin plus 4+4pin so i guess it has the 2 8 pins needed, man this board looks sick, there goes the support for the regular x58 i guess, BIOS issues need resolved big time with it.
:D

3 Way SLI + Sound Card + Physx Card... Yes!

god, those pics are fapworthy. I guess they can fit a X-Fi titanium, nevermind.
Black backplate, for the love of god, please.
Two 8 pins are not needed. It doesnt hurt though to add the second one on.
Thanks for the pics Jacob!!
Here's one more:

oh so thats what you were getting all excited about Jake
now i understand why
who do i beat up for one of these :D
Lets all sell our house or move our of our apartment and buy one of these
just one word INSANE
I just bought my eVGA X58 SLi, And from what I can read from jacob, I'm going to be able to step-up! w00t!:rocker::bows::toast:
He didn't happen to mention what the difference would be?
Simply wow! :slobber:
Damn!!! must not buy...must not buy.
ETA???
I notice in the pics the cards are all GTX295's.......interesting
^^ and 285!
So that'd be 6 way.....is it photoshopped? :)
Ignore that, the 285's are Tri, the 295's dual.
I think is near last time they showed the 790i digital appeared few weeks after, I could be wrong tho.
ooh yeah, that's right. sex me evga, sex me.
so ml cap isn't just for asus anymore.
OMG EVGA stepped up I didnt like the first EVGA X58 but this has potential
Damn that's awesome.
Nice i just found my next X58 mobo. The bad thing is that i dont know how much i have to wait.
where are the 3 way sli bench marks for that board and cards
one word OVERKILL!!
They took every feature and made it one better. Clearly not a reference board! The designers probably had a lot of fun with cost constraints being the second consideration. I wonder if they considered a digital VRD for the memory. They did apparently put 4-phase power on the memory. Rampage II Extreme and Blood Rage are 3-phase. DFI, the only other board with a digital VRD has 2-phase.
The slots appear to be well laid out as the various card pictures show. The Blood Rage, for comparison, really can only fit three-way and four-way using x2 video cards. It has the NF200 chip, but tests have so far shown that to be inconsequential.
I wonder if there is a way to use SLI cards for video encoding...I just waited 3 1/2 hours with my quad pegged at 100% for an encoding...difficult when you are on a deadline.
That looks like a very impressive board with a ton of great features. I think it's just screaming " BUY ME ".
Does the onboard sound have DDL or DTS, or will its digital outs be limited to 2 channels? (probably uses a Realtek chip, and they have the option for atleast one of those if the motherboard manufacturer decides to implement it)
My jaw was hitting the floor the entire time I read the vr-zone review, very nice indeed! Add to that eVGA's great customer service and this board should be quite popular with the enthusiast crowd!
I want to know at what temps that card...the one for physx was working...doesnt look really cool to me. :P I know i know guys...wter is the way to go...i still like air setups.
finally i can install my two 280GTX cards and my areca card with my old 9800GX2 card as a physx card + sound card
now my appetite open for upgrade :)
Imagine, if you will:
3x 285 GTX
9800GT for PhysX
X-Fi Titanium
12GB of Corsair Dominator GT
Phase on the CPU
I think I need to change pants.
damn sexy board.. and the scores posted on 3d section here in xs are pretty darn sexy too. if i was rich i would buy that in heart beat :D
I still think I want the bloodrage over this Im undecided
This better have an interchangable NB waterblock. That heatsink is just damn ugly and oversized. I still can't understand why the NB needs so much cooling with the mem controller removed. That block passively would be enough to cool nforce chipsets, it shouldn't be needed for this.
BUt.. if its interchangable with a waterblock, it'll be better.
Bloodrage still does have better color scheme though.
Almost perfect. If only they could get rid of onboard sound and that ugly PCI slot all together.
Jakup, you guys NEED to make the slots UV reactive. The possibility of a great black/red build is too tempting and if you do that, you win over a lot of Bloodrage fans. The bloodrage still looks better but if you guys make em UV reactive, you win!
Also Jakup, get rid of that iBasso T2 and keep it for portable use and get a Xonar Essence STX for your computer. You'll be impressed :)
+2 on UV suggestion :D!
I think I just decided which x58 board to get...
*fap fap fap*
 Damn those look crazy!!
I wonder what happens when the heartbeat stops :p:
Honestly, i would be FORCED to go X58 if this thing had UV Slots. Im not even kidding.
That YouTube video just made me laugh. I do like this board though, and may just have to "look" into it when it becomes available. Now if we could just get a YouTube video showing us the price......Jacob?
if eVGA releases something like this (and Improve it by then), they will get my money for sure and I will leave ASUS.
eVGA is showing a nice progress when it comes to motherboard, I love this one O_O!
+3 for UV reactive:yepp:
or maybe make the EVGA sign light up:D
actually no... oops :D
I have to restate the importance of an interchangable waterblock that won't ruin the glowy E
Anyone know if something like an EK R2E NB/SB waterblock would work on this? I ordered one but now I'm considering not opening up my Rampage II Extreme and sending it back :P
OK this Board is my next :)
when it will be relased
and please put also a longer CF Bridge inside!
On the normal EVGA X58 SLI it suxx that the cards are so near to eachother in CrossFire X or Dual SLI
I am looking forward to get this board! I think its the Must have!!!
Mush better than R2E
higher cpu/gpu oc/stabilityQuote:
what benefits could have this feature besides low vdroop? can someone please elaborate?
if its one thing thatll get me interested in an i7.. this is it
just another mobo without shamino
did anyone else's mouth water when they read this?
I dont think I caught the release date of this board???
considering I heard about this board before the original evg x58 was release I imagine by the end of this month or early february
yummy
The board hasnt even really been officially announced so i would probably wait til then to hear when it comes out. Then again, it might not be official til the day they are available.
Every day i look at your avatar it keeps changing...
thats what i move to, when i make the move to I7 via tax returns this year.
that mosfet+NB cooler is about as sexy as it gets.
good lord. :)
After four dead EVGA 680i's in a row, there's no chance I'll ever get this board.
But it does look great, EVGA seems to have gotten well into a solid stride on the motherboard side.
I suspect we'll see some eye-popping results with these boards, and I'll drink to that much!
I think the 680i was just the worst release ever... I went through two Abits, one eVGA, and finally got a good one in a Gigabyte... I wouldn't think badly of eVGA for anything related to 680i.. lol.. that was a terrible release.
EDIT: I believe those eVGA (BFG and XFX) 680i boards were all built by Foxconn also.. I am guessing eVGA is now making it's own current boards?
I don't know if this thread is the right place to ask but: Have Gigabyte or Asus offered up any nf200 boards yet?
Asus has P6T6 WS Revolution.
