Have fun Charles and Chris. Unfortunately I couldnt make it due to my graduation party being on Sunday and the weather.
Who won in Indo?
Trying to suss out who i will compete against :P
see you in Taipei guys
Hah, i should have guessed Benny
I want to go back to Taipei but the competition will be stiff. It'll be my first time benching on my F1EE with LN2 and my 2nd time benching LN2. I sadly can't take my cascade on the airplane, something about explosive gases and it weight 85 pounds
Ahh, it's Benny! :D
looking forward too meet you guys in taiwan :D... it should be fun there :)
Hey Guys,
The other regional qualifiers seem very cool. I can't wait to see how the US qualifier goes. I will be benching on Saturday, and look forward to meeting all the US compeitors. This is going to be very fun!!
- Ton
Scandinavian qualifying has started, 5 people will go to finals in Taiwan. Here is the competition page:
http://event.gigabyte.se/ocf/oc.php
I'm invited as press so I won't join the oc-competition. See you there.
Whats the go on pencil modding?
(The rules only disallow wires & soldering :p:)
Info on the USA event.
http://event.gigabyte.com.tw/20080625OC/USA/index.htm
Damn looks like its gonna be a ton of fun. Stupid grad party had to be scheduled for the same weekend
looks like i finally get to meet the man i sent a bunch of nonsense pm's to!
according to the rules... soldering for vmods is OK! guess it really helps to be an electrical engineer eh?
My X48T-DQ6 is a dream to oc. Awesome voltage options, not sure it even needs any mods! The only place I could really say the bios is lacking is in the gtl tuning but it doesn't seem to hurt it any. That comp is gonna be a blast. The 9600gt should be an easy vmod too and a fun card.
Looks like a pretty tight benching schedule and a great assortment too. Very well thought out contest.
Sampsa, actually 5 nordic people will compete against each other and only 1 will go to Taiwan.
"Five (5) people from the qaulifying part of the competition are selected by our judges to continue to the final event where they will meet and compete against each other with identical hardware setups. The winner from that event will get a free trip to Taiwan to compete in the World final of the GIGABYTE CUP 2008."
Good Luck Xs Members In This Comp

So who came 2nd and 1st??!?

Charles looks tired in the pic, and hicookie, as perverted as always :D
Congrats on nice event, rooting for some of my Northern European friends in the Scandinavian Round! :yepp:
Thanks Jigabyte and Corsair for hosting the event, I am sure everyone else did as well.
Grats to Ross and Mark :oscar: for placing first and second.
Im happy to place 3rd, time was on my side for the 06 runs.
A toast for the homies that could not make it, Jake, Jason and Vince.
The first power loss knocked Denny out, he never recovered.
Thanks S7e9h3n for the image.

Charles:
That's a great pic that you should save..
Sick. Nice pic.
Haha thanks for pouring some out for a homie. I think your the first to kill a core never heard of that happening. Heard of two going but not just one. Hey Charles I might be out in Vegas in a couple weeks.
with charles' magic hand..... yes. he made the 1st intel tri core
5.4G 06 cpu score is 6500. 3dmark2001 50k LOLz
Amazing work Charles :p: Something the Intel boys taught you at IDF? Sorry to hear that though Denny. We will hafta get to gether and bench when I move out there next month.

Thanks and you are welcome to drop by and bench, hopefully I have LN2 handy.
It was good meeting the overclockers they brought in, almost all new faces.
Habib, brought a vapo to competition. He pushed his quad core to 5ghz for 06, in bios it was at -10c. He registered for XS today.
Quite a few F1 pots from K|ngp|n, A couple aluminum mousepots for gpu's, Mark ran LN2 on GPU.
Charles - looks like you had a lot of fun... hope to make it out to nvision if all goes as planned - would love to see KP bench and meet you guys :)
Gotta go to bed and go to work... new contract :D so I can afford to fly out to San Jose! though IDK... I could use that $$ for the upcoming E8600 :D
EDIT: the avatar <<<< was just too good of a pic to not be a avatar for a while :D
Here's the real kicker, that was Ross' first ever LN2 session :D
Thanks dinos, luck of the draw on CPU's. I was crying inside when I ran Nature...@ default card clocks
I just now figured out who you are
Love that pic, nice shot Stephen
*cough* beginner's luck :D
Ditto.Quote:
I just now figured out who you are
It was way cool meeting everyone this weekend! Since most people introduced themselves by real name at first, it took me a bit to figure out who was who and put real names to screen names. So for the record, I am "Ross"...obviously, boostedevo here at XS. I don't post a whole lot unfortunately, but I am here very often ;) I am looking forward to meeting more of you in Taipei in a couple of months and hopefully benching again at some point with those I met this weekend
Thanks to everyone for the congrats and congrats again to G H Z and Fugger
Mark- You have to show me who you are. I can't be sure :)
Maybe someone write names to that group picture?
I had a blast at the event, placed 5th and only scored points in 1M and AM3. I wanted to play disc golf with my 9600GT when I was done with it, 800MHz GPU was a struggle  Had a great time meeting everyone and I hope to see everyone again at the next US event  Now time to sift through the screenshots to see what I saved :yepp:
I loved the tri-core, ended up being the board right? :D
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y160/RA1D/g27.jpg
PSU needs airflow! :p:
wow first LN2 session
nice mate very nice
One thing I want to say, everyone from Gigabyte did an amazing job putting this contest together. They were always very helpful and clearly worked very very hard to make everything work as smoothly as it good.
Big props to hicookie too for all his hard work in constantly filling up all of our thermoses with LN2. :D
Wait till you see the September event then, its gonna be huge
Wow, the event was a blast, I just now got home. I got to meet and bench with such awesome talent, and I got to cook a motherboard. Add that to all the LN2 I can use, and I don't see what could have made my weekend more complete. That poor cpu was never the same after the mobo roast though :shakes:
Sweet tactic to take you out of your game.Quote:
and big props to you for making sure my mousing and BIOS adjusting hand was ice cold
Ill post some video's later tonight.
Yup.. this event was truly a blast. Gigabyte treated all the benchers Very Well!!! The continous refill of LN2 was just awesome. It was awesome to meet and chat w/ all the great benchers at XS in person. Can't wait till next year.
- Ton
Nice vids Fugger. Hopefully some of the other videos start popping up as well.
Thanks for the title change Fugger (I assume) and nice vids ;)
I can't seem to say enough times how cool it was to meet, bench and hang out with everyone. It would've been nice if it were 1 day longer for us to freestyle bench. I was so out of whack on Sunday, I barely felt like watching you guys OC and couldn't believe some were back down there at 6am LOL. Total diehards
Ton, I was trying to figure out WTF that dual minigun thing was all weekend. I had no idea that was yours until I saw you wheeling it out on Sunday. I thought maybe they were going to use it to finish off any partially dead h/w :D
Hey GHZ
It was a pleasure to be benching at teh same table as you. I was so jealous seeing you push 5.7Ghz.. by the end of the comp.. mine barely did 4.8 :P
Hey BoostedEvo -
Congrats on teh win. You did great on all the benches, and it was even more impressive to hear it was your 1st time on LN2. And best of luck in Taiwan!!!
Yup.. as for the 2 case mods back there, they were both min. Gigabyte asked me to put them on display during the contest, which I was more then happy to do. I didn't people would notice it much, since this was an "OC" event :)

:upset::dammit: nothing for europe
anyway :cheer::cheer: :)
mop, speak to your local Gigabyte reps for details.
That gun was a computer?!?! I thought it was just a prop the entire time I was staring at it :p:

The Turret is a PC. The Dispenser is a monitor.
Hey Guys,
I didn't know you guys were into case modding :) I am very happy to see such warm responses to my projects.

(ps. Sorry for going off topic.)
speak to a rep, not a website
im stupid so, where ?
hey ! im not stupid there's no party after all xDQuote:
there is no contest in europe but each country could select power user for final :)
I dont know if im a decent benchmarker, but Overclocker I would call my self 4sure!
http://event.gigabyte.se/ocf/oc.php
There is an event in the Nordics.
If it is only sweden or what I dont know!
EDIT :D
Fugger, let me guess. Did DJ Colin from Gigabyte provide the music during the event?
You mean jam-masta-brix?
