Hi
This is my new case.
My inspiration was Virtualrain's Lian Li 343b, im sure everybody remember this great thread.
I loved Project Rainmaker so much, I designed my case after his. Course, I added a few things that he couldn't modding the Lian Li. Namely room for 3 120.3 rads in the front (either vertically, or horizontally) And room for one in the back, if you were so inclined. Also, the front can be rotated 180* if you want the drives on top.
Good luck on modding your 343b. Hope it comes out nice. Oh, and you can put the 120.2 on top. I believe they make a replacement panel for 120.2's.
edit: hahhaha removed pictures, darn you R3.
thanks i know i can put rad on the top but dont want to do that, coz at the end there will be a window. HDD case is from my old case TJ07 i will give to my sister:D
Im waiting for more hardewere like (foxconn 790i, intel E8600, new NVIDIA card hope will ROCK:banana3: if not will get Foxconn BlackOps and
Ati 2x 4870x2 or something else.
I want also 10 pci mobo tray but dont know whete to get it from.
if i remember correctly, only lian li had 10 pci slot cases, but i dont think there were mobo trays, they were part of the case
Thermaltake does them as well but dont know where to get them from
Update soon when new stuff will come

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...589800x600.jpg
I will cut the rest of the back and then will start to mount mobo tray.
so more update soon.
Slighty off topic, but where in Surrey are you from?
horley
placing the mobo on top horizontally .. but wouldnt the heated air goes up?
but then accumulated heat air on the mobo? wont it affect your temps?
no coz there will be 6 fans in the front on thermochills blowing in and 6 fans taking air out so there will be a nice circulation of air inside.
proper ventilation should take care of warm air inside. nice updated.
how would you deal with wiring, maybe you'd do it like virtualrain's another shelf to hide the wires...
No i will try to cut all the cables to a minimum lenght so there will no need to hide cables :D same with SATA cables i recon 20-30 cm will be more than enough.

that is it for today more soon when new parts will commin, hope monday.
I dont like horitontal cases but your project is looking good.
Keep going ;)
With a good ventilation should be no problem.
i think some cases have a problem with rad and fan placing coz if u want to have a low water temps should never push out air from inside case just push in, allways u have colder air outside case than inside.
So in my opinion is better this way and have a good fans to take a warm air suck outside.
Looking good so far, will be interested to see how this comes along.
PS where abouts in Surrey are you ?
Horley near Gattwick
nice. i like updates...
(2 rd30s could fit in there nicely, hehehe)
Hi update again today a nice parcel has arrived from Performance PC and i can say im happy coz i can start doing my case again.
So another smart tool will help me doing all the sleeving.

And this will be a home made 10 PCI mobo tray
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...113800x600.jpg
Im still waiting for a back panel where 10 PCI motherboard will be mounted
Thask it for now
very nice project and pics :)
is that the danger den fillport acetal?
Yes is acetal, is really nice.
I hope that water coming out from radiator will not comes out through fill port some how.
So just under DD acetal T fitting will be a laing ultra pump going to EK Supreme and then back into radiator so it will be v. very short loop. so there will be no loose any of flow.
I just ordered Bitspower compression fittings they will go onto EK Supreme
This looks awesome on EK block
Update again
So i have my back panel, and now i can conitnue my project
Some essential tools (priceless)
I decided to go with normal mobo tray insted of 10 PCI coz it looks better, but 10 PCI i would have 3 slots unused and empty space, so no more 10 pci mobo untill we can buy such motherboard
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...121800x600.jpg
This where fans will be mounted so take warm air out.

Tomorrow i will cut out holes for PSU and fans in bottom compartement.
More update soon
Very nice looking, you could begin to rival Virulants build with this if the quality continues.
question, why did you put outside those filters, from the fan orientation (exhausting from in to outside), so filters should be inside if ever...
just use some grill out side to minimize air restriction...
Fan filters are just for now after when this all will be powdercoat i will put normal fan grills to cover holes.
Looks really awsome and I WANT MORE PICS!! Hurry up building ; )
Be patient
Im trying the best I can but it looks so nice :D
Hi
This is how it looks bottom panel with cut out holes for HDD ventilation.
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...183800x600.jpg
And this is how i can unscrue a HDD cage from main chassis to get drives out.
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...184800x600.jpg
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...185800x600.jpg
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...191800x600.jpg
There will be another hole for PSU, but waiting for Silverstone PA 1200w to coome so i can mesure and cut out this properly. I dont want to just cut this out not beeing sure where exactly should mount this.
Mounting a mobo tray there was a gep between back panel and main frame like this
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...195800x600.jpg
So i had to put another pice of aluminium to fill this gap like this
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...197800x600.jpg
So after its done look like this not bad i think

More update soon i have to go to work :( so this will delay some future improovements, but only for few hours hehe :D.
last few day have been trying how to mount pump and Tubing into my system.
Problem is i dont want a reservoir just T line so i can easy empty my system,
costs less and do not need much space.
Here is picture
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...d-1800x600.jpg
Is there enough space to fill fillport and not to have a water comming out through, wile im trying to fill this up.
And another thing i think i have to cut out a 1cm from fillport coz is a bit to tall and not fits inside the case.
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...d-1800x600.jpg
any ideas how to mount LAING DDC ultra with petras top?????
the blue green combo looks great :) i would do that.
nice work mate keep us updated.also nice pics what cam?
nice updates. mount the pump with a universal stand, so you can orient it anyway you'd like.
Dam looks awesome... I love the compression barbs..
are they 1/2" ID 3/4" OD ones? or are they the 3/8" ID 5/8" OD?
1/2" Id 3/4" Od
nice camera... i would probably read up reviews for it before buying one. or choose the proven brand...
Camera is great, i read tons of reviews before i bought it. still need to lern how to take great pictures, but have all the time, and i want ot buy a macro lens.
That's what I want is a macro lens or at least one that I can focus closer than 1.75 feet away.
Nice pics!
I was thinking more like this one
http://www.olympuscanada.com/cpg_sec..._20M/index.asp
Nice build!!
Awesome!!
Regards!
I figured pump orientation,
So pump outlet will go strait up into radiator through DD angle connector, and inlet will be horizontaly. So i can still put a fillport for easy bleeding, and filling insuficient coolant. Loop will be very short that is god coz there will be a lot of water pumped through system hoping for better results.

Update
Just small one today
i have my acrylic top, radiator mounting brackets and sunbeam fan port has come today.
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...d-1800x600.jpg
And small preview how pump will be hoocked up to this system along with t line.
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...d-1800x859.jpg
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...d-1800x600.jpg
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...d-1800x679.jpg
So this is just old top to show u how this will be mounted but at the end there will be petras top so this will be a bit better.
Hey Matias23... it's great to see another challenging horizontal mod of the 343 coming to successful fruition!
I like your approach. I'm keen to see the result.
I noticed that the QC on the Thermochill's is not great... I have one where the top tank is welded on at a slight angle so the outlets and inlets are not perpendicular to the radiator... which makes it PITA to align stuff like your fill port with the top of the case while the radiator is mounted vertically. I'm really disappointed with Thermochill QC.
Unfortunately, mounting the pumps like that is going to hurt water flow... outlet directly into a 90degree. It will also hurt air flow through the rad. That's why I went with the Alphacool tanks. Unfortunately, you don't have a lot of options. Perhaps orient the pump so the outlet of the rad feeds directly to the inlet of the pump and then your pump outlet is pointng directly downwards towards your mobo tray? It depends if you have the necessary clearance above for the pump body to the roof of the case.
The other (probably better) option is to run the pumps on their side so that the outlet is pointing directly into the rad inlet and the pump inlet is horizontal towards the middle of the case... both pumps inlets would be pointing right at each other this way but if you attach them to the rad inlets towards the outside of the case, you should have lots of clearance. LOL!
If you haven't considered this already, one thing I would do next time, is to drill holes in the bottom of the case to access the rad bleed screws so I could use those for draining the loop without having to tear apart the loop and risk getting electronics wet. Just a thought.
Cheers!
-Chris.
I have a couple of new brackets coming out that might help you out. Petra's, sidewinder, and Performance-PC's sells the absolute bracket now and the new Absolute rev.2 and the new 3G racket will be out in about two weeks. Hope this helps and maybe gives you some different ideas.
10 pci mobos? are there even any? i must have missed smth...
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...1&d=1213926280
That top one looks familiar.. Looks like something I suggested a little while ago. :) Now all I need to do is get rid of the 2 that I have, and get those.. <sigh>
hmm new absolute bracket should also help give airflow to the under side of a ddc...
matias, poor ddc outlet may hurt performance. maybe you could try some other mounting orientation?
Do You really think that this will hurt flow and performance that much??????????
Coz i was trying different pump orientation and only this one looks great and do not need much more space to mount. and i dont want a reservior!
hi today i have being dooing some sleeving

I don't think i'd ever have the patience to sleeve my own stuff, I get too anxious working on things. Awesome job so far!
U just need a lot of time to do this, it takes about 1h to do PCI-E and i dont konw how long will take to do Mobo 24 PSU cable hehe.
This thread is pure custom build :banana::banana::banana: heaven so far,
Awesome work and design! :)
nice work on that sleeving :)
i did the sleeving on all my psu molex and sata connectors, started to do the 24pin , took me an hour to get 3 of the pins out so i put them back in for now.. So i know exactly what you mean about how much time it takes..
im probably going to get a new psu soon so im certainly not going to do the 24pin twice now that i know how time consuming it is
Well I do listen to customer feedback!! I had been kicking around the idea but ya reading all the forums I definetly saw a need for the horizontal bracket.
Matias23 the Absolute bracket does give it more airflow and keep the pump a bit cooler. I have it mounted over a fan and the airflow helps out alot.

Gahh, I remember what a PITA it is to do the 24pin wire-by-wire...
i admire your patience for this build. Keep up the good work
Can you sleeve my cables :)
nice work
this is an awesome build man! keep up the good work!
You've done a fantastic job there, congrats:clap:. Hopefully i won't stuff it up when i have a go at sleeving my PSU...
