it looks awesome for me and is cheap like hell when compared to lian-li cases ;o Go for it... I will also :D :D
is this similar to a specific Lian Li case?
im prolly gonna head over to a best buy and check it out in person .. i need a case that has more room than a tj09 but isnt super expensive .. something that is easy to hide wires as well
I really like that case. Too bad I don't see them available in Canada =.
layout is similar to Lian-Li PC-G75, with a front door cover :)
Lian-Li PC-G75

Where are you guys getting that rocketfish is Lian- Li? I'm not seeing the connection.
Man screw my Antec 900 I just bought, I like that case a lot, I have built with a Lian-Li case before and it was a joy to work with. However I don't remember it being possible to route cables behind the side panel, so I could not make the wires neat which sucked. Is this possible with some of their other cases? I really like this case too...

the PC-60BPLUSII, Lian-Li cases are so nice, they look and feel high quality with the aluminum they are made out of, they are lightweight and very easy to build with, all thumb screws, slide out MB tray, ect. I kinda wish I went for the PC-60BPLUSII instead of the Antec 900, but again does anyone know if you can hide wires behind the side panel on this model?
I have been starting my build with this case and i know it well, its pretty much impossible to run any cables behind the motherboard tray since the space is VERY limited.
Interesting case... Gotta love the Lian-Li..
Mobo tray would have been nice. May have the Lian Li build quality but not all the bells and whistles. Nice if you can get the stores that don't have the clearance price yet to price match to the receipt Trans Am posted in the Deal thread.
Wow, I was going to get a cooler master but this actually looks really nice for the price. Gonna have to go to best buy and take a look at it.
Rocketfish is an "in house" brand owned by Best Buy, same as the Geek Squad and Dynex labeled products. Best Buy contracts with various manufacturing companys and has them design various products for them. Lian Li is just another company that Best Buy has partnered up to make Best Buy labeled products, a computer case in this instance.
Thats a helluva case for 119$.....
If you have a dremel you can hide all the wires...except the sexy HDD cable :d
$119? i got mine for $51.60 at best buy today.
and yeah, the fans and everything all say lian-li. it's a lian-li quality case alright.
just REALLY big.
i love when generic parts are re-badged high end parts.
Incorrect - no generic parts, the case is manufactured for Best Buy by Lian Li. High end case with a different name.
Think of it in this way in terms of simularities of cars.
Lian Li - Cadillac Escalade
Rocketfish - Chevrolet Tahoe
Pretty much the same truck - except the Escalade has more "bling" to it than the Chevrolet Tahoe.
#su doesn't know english obviously.
this is a lian-li quality build guys. everything about it.
your analogy is inaccurate.
umm... yea.
its manufactured in the same factory as lian-li, by lian-li, with lian-li pieces, and they put another badge on it. therefore, its a generic lian-li. much like Value O's and Cheerios are the exact same thing but in a different box.
Hmm, this kind of cheapens the lian-li brand for me. I used the think of them as i thought of bmw or porche, with no 'lower order'. Now I'm starting to think of them as lexus and rocketfish is toyota.
Lian- Li sold out.
as stated, rocketfish cases are rebranded lian-li cases.
something else; the rocketfish 2 sided mouse pad is a razer mousepad rebranded.
So i bought mine today. It appears best buy screwed up on their pricing.
Although it is advertised at 71.99 in the store, it rang up at 47 and some change. With tax it came to $51. I'll take a pic of the receipt to show.
Very happy with it. Very nice build, quality door. Wiring is a PITA though. Also the Lian Li fans although move a lot of air, they are rather loud.
Will take some pics later this evening or tomorrow.
So here is a pic after the build. I did not before/after shots as i just wanted to get this done. Its a lil late and i should really be sleeping, but ya know, new case had to spend a few hours breaking my other system down and swapping components into this one.

Very happy with it so far, nice and cool. Was easy to put together except for the wiring, and unlike other builds i didn't even cut myself on this one :)
Wow, this is a sick deal for a Lian Li made case. Hmm, should I transfer my tj07 parts over to this?
BTW, fans are stickered Lian Li Corporation ;)
it's inaccurate because a chevy is made more cheaply than an escalade (if that's possible, they are both junk). but you're implying that there is some type of quality difference between rocketfish and lian-li when that couldn't be further from the truth. you analogy would have to be.... i purchased an escalade but put chevy badges on it. because this case IS a lian-li. they litterally just put a different badge on the front and cut the price in half.
i cant see how this is a sell out, it looks like an excellent case, same quality as all lian-li's ive owned (went to store to look). Honestly if i hadn't heavily modded my current lian-li to do what i need i would have bought this rocketfish without a second thought.
Thumbs Down to all the haters, really not cool. (I just don't see why you feel the need to bash something you haven't used and clearly have invalid opinions on)
I think I will have to check out the BB tomorrow.
Has anyone done a window mod on this? just curious if anyone has any parts suggestions, i plan on doing one this week. I really want to mod it so it shows off my awesome cable management/UV lights/UV reactive sleeving and mobo.
I have a plan and now all i have to do is secure the components!
Amazing deal on such high-quality components. $71 for a case that would normally cost over $200. su#, good analogy. Why does Lian Li do this? (I'm not complaining, just curious)
probably because Best Buy paid them a ton of money to do it.
i'm guessing these were cases that were going to be a mainline item for lian-li, and lian-li decided to redesign theirs and scrap these. instead, they sold them off as generic items.
just a guess, but i'm saying these cases were supposed to be the PC-A71B. after a few thousand were produced they changed the design. it would explain the limited quantity and early discontinuation.
hmmmm. Is there any way to verify whether or not the parts are interchangeable with the PC-A71B?
holy lord I think I'm going to buy this case tomorrow. How big is the box? Will I need a car because damn I was hoping to use the subway :p:
Ha! Not quite. the way I see it:
Lian Li = Frosted Flakes w/ Tony the Tiger on the box
http://bp3.blogger.com/_H4_1ySoYfME/...Q/s1600/ff.jpg
RocketFish = Frosted Flakes made by Lian Li but with some gay name.
http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk/detail/494120b.jpg
no, the analogy is incorrect because of the reason i've already explained. his analogy implies that there is a difference in build quality. which there is not.
nothing like what case? a PC-A71B? my PC-A71B is sitting right next to my rocketfish case. i can interchange any and every part.
I think that this cases are a copy from original, not maded by Lian-Li, but they have the same build quality, and different Layout.
Its like Eagletech and Xg, Eagletech copy the designe from Xg and use their same build quality, to put in the market a case which was allready maded by Xg.
PD sorry for my english, i hope you guys understand.
Actually, what I was referring to in my analogy wasn't build quality since the Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade are built in the Arlington Plant, but appearance wise.....perhaps I should change the analogy to be Chevy Tahoe compared to GMC Yukon.
And the "mystique" that Cadilliac's have over, just a "chevy".
Just picked this one up for $52.19 after taxes. :)
Its HUGE, but super spacious... And sure is a dam nice case.
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/9507/case1dr8.jpg
Mine didnt say this crappy 'rocketfish' or whatever crappy brand the rest of your cases did... Or did it? BWAHAHAHH! ;)
http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/6459/case2em6.jpg
Dam fingerprints!
(dont ask what happened to my other 7K1000)
If this case is beeing sold for $53, then here is the new rival for every budget case on the market. The only con i found is the PITA wiring.
@ ZOMGVTEK, i thin you can hide th wires behind the HDD cages, btw nice system
lol, I just spent more on supplies and modders materials than I did on the case. Got my 4 3/4" hole saw today! Ready to mod!!!
Unfortunately you cant reverse the HD cages without modding :/
I'm working on cleaning mine up and mounting the pump &radiator, I'll post more when I'm done.
Essentially i've got the radiator on the bottom where the HD cages were, the holes beneath them provide ample airflow for the rads w/ fans pulling in. Removed the 3.5 " floppy bay and I'm in the process of mounting the pump there now, so far it looks like it'll turn out pretty compact.
yeah, I'm thinking I can get my stuff in and have room for a second loop. Maybe a PA 160.1 on the bottom, but an extra pump and res should be no problem.
whats with us asians and our creative names?
reminds me of my tee shirt back the 80's...
pic of baseball and shirt read "Baseball-Ball"
made growin up in Bed Stuy tad tough...
*sigh*
Yea, i need to clean up the wires a bit.. This PSU has a few too many of them to just casually hide. I actually prefer a non modular psu for the ease of not losing the cables, and slightly lower resistance, but... thats a whole lot of unused cables, lol.
Im probably going to clean it up some and make a new sticker from the front that looks more like the real one. I just realized that its all caps, lol.
I actually manged to get my wires done rather well, but not being able to go behind the tray sucked.
Oh well.
Still happy with it and the price of the case.
I wish I could get one in australia! if only someone could get one and sell it to me... :D what would be the closet lian li to it?
lian-li best cases
very beatiful!
Well, was in Atlanta Friday.....and while most of the ATL BB's still had the case listed at full retail, had an employee check their RSS and found a few GA stores with the $47 price.
Got two from the Buckhead store....last two they had.
There are a couple in Macon, a couple in Augusta, and six in Savannah.
Now, the question is how is the best way to fit a Thermochill PA120.3 inside the case? Guess modding the top is the way to go with it, right?
Picked this puppy up over the weekend. Took a coupon and a bit of talking down to get em to 80, which is more than I would've liked to pay but no other store close to me has them for the lowest price so whatever. I modded the top and fit 3x 120mm exhaust fans. Also reversed the rear fan and the graphics card fan to turn them into intakes. You may say "but what about the exhaust coming from your PSU rising up the back of the chassis" but that thing isn't even blowing any heat. Corsair VX550 FTW.
I have never had a system run this cool on air. Even @ 4.25GHz and 1.445 volts, the CPU temp still doesn't bust 60 degrees C on either core. Nothing in my system is warm to the touch, except the backside of a PCB's socket area and the VRM heatsink. Not gonna worry too much about those ;)
A 3x120 would be tight, especially a PA. I've got my MCR220 down there at the moment.
If you have a short or modular PSU, and you remove the front intake fan you MIGHT be able to fit the radiator in there, but it'll be snug.
2x120 however fits fine, and pulls more than enough air up through the holes surprisingly.
The $49.00 price seems too be hit and miss at the BestBuy's. A friend of mine got one from a BB by his house for $49, but when i went in theye were sold out, the BB by my house has 10 of them but the Manager wouldnt budge on the $119 price, he said something about some stores were clearing stock.
so, today i passed another BB, went in and got one for $70.00.
couldnt be happier with this case, nice, just nice:D lowered my temps by 8c using less fans than my Antec case...
I would buy one if I wasn't putting together a LAN rig.
Man I just bought a Lian Li PC-A05B case and it's great looking and a really neat small case and what not but after seeing this pricing and dealing with kinda high temps with my overclock in the small A05B I had to run out and pick up one of these. Has anyone had problems with routing cables to keep them hidden? I put most of them behind the drive cages in my A05B. Didn't know if it was necessary to cut any holes to accommodate this. Guess I might start the hw transfer tomorrow :).
I'm looking to get one of these, anyone get theirs around Temecula and if you did how much? Thank you
Like was mentioned in another thread on another forum......pretty much go into any BB, look for the case and see what price they're asking.
If it's not at the $48 price, nicely ask a salesperson to check their RSS for other stores around.....they can check any surrounding area for stock level and pricing and cut a lot of leg work out for you.
Where do i put my PA?
Just got one for $50, this is a steal at this price, its huge, and best of all, it is made by LIAN LI!!!!!
Damn, I got my V2000B for 40$ but that was used, not that was any dmg to it, but it lags alot of parts.. Sometimes I would love to live in the US :p
I've been trying to get one of these cases for $50 without any luck. The closest store has it for $119.99, the second closest is out of stock and I can't get a price quote from calling the third closest.
I picked up four today - The Nemesis got five @ $52. I may go back and grab one more tonight.
Man my Lian Li a05b ran 4c cooler than the rocket fish case. I guess due to its larger size that air flow isn't as consistent... damm dead zones. Any ideas?
The reason some do not have it at the super low price is from a business standpoint if they are selling well at 100+ dollars why mark it way down? The stores who are marking them super low are doing so because they just dont sell in that area, clearing things out for inventory is pretty much whats going on. My store in Tustin has about 4 of them @71.99
i got one for 50 bucks, cannot beat it at this price, i gave it to a friend of mine tho, was a bit too big for me.
Best Buy in Orange Park, Fl has five on shelf. 47.00 before tax.
i bought 2 @ 52$ each at the price you simply CANNOT go wrong these cases are so lian li. The fans even say lian li corporation on then i busted out laughing when I saw that.
Id like to get a windowed side panel if someone finds one that fits be sure to post which one it is.
Windowed side panel is part number W-75B. Performance PC's has it.
Actually, there are two different windowed side panels for this case....the W-75A/B as you mentioned (which is just a windowed panel), and the W-75AP/BP, which is a vented windowed side panel. (FYI....the "A" is silver, the "B" is black.)
Both panels are found at Performance PCs and at FrozenPCs.
PerformancePCs calls the W-75AP/BP a PC-G70/G70B panel (strange they don't follow Lian-Li's naming convention) while FrozenPCs names the panels correctly.
PPC's W-75B panel.
PPC's G-70B panel.
GrozenPC's W-75B panel, although they call it a PC-75B panel.
FrozenPC's W-75BP panel.
Lian-Li's page for the W-75A/B panels.
Lian-Li's page for the W-75AP/BP panels.
WTF, the side panels are more expensive than the case itself, w00t.
