Jesus...yes.
Oh man that looks great...except I'm still not thrilled with the price of 4GB of DDR3 (binned at decent speeds) :(
Perhaps a DDR2 version will become available?
Ich10 !?
it's an injustice i say!
show me such a nice board from my favriot brand (fanboy but not to extreme) and then there is a typo in the release
and the small fact my wife would kill me if i bought an expensive mobo right about know lol

Will DFI be fast to market with this one??? Ooooh! If the price is right........
no 3 pcie*16 as vga slots?
the third is too close to the 2nd in order to use vga cards.
It looks nice indeed but i don't feel ready to pay for DDR3 ram :(
Horrible layout of the PCI-E slots. :(
Why can't they just cut down and include TWO PCI slots? Jeeze....
oooh yeah bring it on :yepp:
Mmm...should look great on the bench next to my brand new LT X38-T2R. :D
when i go ddr3 it will be on this motherboard
should match the p-35 tr2's decore on my bench he he
Wait X48-T2R :D
ooooh yay baby time for more DDR3 action :D
Lol why are the 'sinks all blurred? Moving too fast for the camera?
Its funny how they blur out the coolers like no one knows what they look like. We have all seen this cooling implementation now haha.
 Article said ICH10 in about 5 different places explicitly. It's not like a single word flub. X48 is coming out later than originally expected. It's not impossible that as an added incentive to just getting a better binned NB, Intel has the ICH10 paired with it. I mean, otherwise 99.9% of the public would not even consider X48. No way Intel has an overclocker-only chipset variation. I could absolutely be wrong, but given the fact that what everyone knows (including about the Intel release dates) is typically based on third hand leaks and threads like this one posted by "insider knowledge" people, I'll bet it's better than even it will have ICH10.
lets hope to god they actually release a ddr3 board this time.
sick of seeing them, but never releasing them.
ICH10 is PCI free, and the board has 3 PCI as I can see. If it is indeed ICH10 they would need and extra chip for the PCI slots, and this is very unprobable. The southbridge heatsink is wide and maybe that chip is below it, but the P35-T2R one is the same and doesn't have the extra chip. I keep thinking the board uses the standard ICH9 and ICH10 will be available when P45 arrives.
That can be true, but I just can't see the "incentive" of using X48 with ICH10. What does ICH10 bring? More USBs, more SATA connectors, and completely legacy free. If X48 is supposed to be an overclocking chipset, OC guys don't care much about I/O conectivity IMO. And look a few post above, they said that the board's digital PWM will bring enough current to AMD quad core processors. I think they are wrong in both cases, when they say it uses AMD quad core CPUs and when thay say it uses ICH10 southbridge.
BTW that PCI-E layout sucks badly. Board makers will never learn...
oh come on... i really wouldnt have expect dfi to place to 16x slots next to each other... why? :(
This is so Thermalright.
Are you saying that the AMD RD790 is the first board that uses digital PWM? Because is not, in the entire market and if we look only inside DFI...
And yes, of course it's just a copypaste.
O Rly?

No, I mean from the latest "AMD Quad core supporting boards" where they took the statement from, the DFI RD790 was the first of their boards to use it. The others didn't support quads and have this feature.
I'm going to wait for Intel or DFI to release their Nehalem boards. Then I will finally replace my D975XBX.
This is a old design pic. Retail will have some changes.
Nice Board, Sweet colors :D.
A Cebit showing would be nice.. but my guess would be for the release to be April at least. Especially if it has ICH10..probably "When it's done"
Using thermalright cooling would be smart :)
Yep slot design needs some work.
ICH10 (if it comes on the P45) should be pairable with a X48 Northbridge. I don't see a technical reason for it not to be "possible". And legacy free doesn't mean someone didn't come up with a bridge pci-e to pci. The logic of doing that however, doesn't make sense. So I'll bet it's ICH9 or it doesn't look like the photo if it's ICH10 (which Andre has noted it does not).
Wow! Thought DFI T3R mobos would only come in 2010... lol... please try not to get owned by Abit this time. If you're gonna be the last ones to bring out motherboards they should have class leading performance right out of the box and perfect BIOS.
DDR3 Lanparty is a myth =D
DFI promised from P35 and X38 lanpartys an DDR3 edition have u seen one? -no u haven't
Will DFI have a x48 that supports ddr2?
I bet we see this or a p45 board from dfi real soon.
The arrangement of the slots is for featuring 2 cards crossfire and 1 physics. But 3870 is single slot cooling so if it does trifire than its good enough. Still, layout is always a hard choice with the constraints of atx.
Come on DFI, give us a DDR3 board already!
I'm betting this board will be about 350 bucks when it is first released. Not much point in offering a DDR2 version IMO. If DFI turned to thermalright for their onboard heatsinks that is a HUGE step in the right direction.
Damn!
This board looks like no modding is needed to it.
Damn you DFI! For not letting me spend countless hours making quiet NB heatsinks that don't sound liek stock vacuum cleaners, damn youuu!
Its goin to be available somewhere in march...
A question guys, will its trd be tweakable?
Like this one? The asus did get an huge performance gain...

ok... now i'm drooling :D
About the southbridge:
DFI was hoping to use the ICH10, but had to switch to ICH9R, because Intel will not have it ready for when the X48 launches/DFI launches the board.
The correct name is "DFI LANParty UT X48-T3R"
//Andreas
An updated pic from VR-Zone.. Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my KB :D

better PCI-E placement :)
Actually, it's better to say "accommodated" PCIe placement, because of the DIMM array being pushed to the center of the board.
Check the X38 model layout.
someone pass me a tissue paper...
ICH9R chipset.... did they not just announce ICH10..?
I bet this thing will not be avaliable in the UK as usual, and no I will not have it shipped in from another country.
If only it was DDR2. :( :( DDR3 is just WAY too expensive. Is there going to be a DDR2 version?
Even the revised PCI-E layout isn't that brilliant (as someone else has already observed): if you CrossFire with two hot cards, like X2's, the first one is gonna have very little air over the fan/heatsink.
X38's layout is much better.
Happy with my X38-T2R, I suppose
Giacomo
It's not gonna be everyone's fav board at CeBit but I like this collabo between 2 of my fav companies... Wish it had more x1 slots but I guess you can't make everyone happy...
I was at CeBit today and ofcourse seen this mainboard, mate of mine took a picture of it. So you guys finally have a high res picture and non blurred.

TBH, this board got me amazed for a while, looked so nice, and cool.
DDR2 version is coming.
http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/all-l...6th-march.html
hmm, too bad they used IFX designed chipset heatsinks. I like the regular design better. Cant complain about how well it will perform though.
DDR2 version is up for presale at Motherboardpro. I just pre-ordered mine.
ITS so freakin nice!!! :)
gotta have to every price! hehe..
and why do they not have the T3R? even though it was presented first...gaaaah...
i want one
We are getting the DFI LP LT X48-T2R DDR2 X48 Motherboard in on the 17th but we are saying the 19th on are site. DDR2 on a X48 Nice good Pre Order. We will sell out and will not get more for 3 to 4 weeks motherboard
whats different from the x38 version?
My order is in for the DFI LP LT X48-T2R DDR2 X48.Good to see DFI listening to the customers who want DDR2 on x48.Get it here MotherboardPro.com.
http://www.motherboardpro.com/DFI-LP...ard-p-540.html
so freakin unfair :)
WHY just ddr2?! i been waiting for this stuff for ages, and when it shows off, the DDR2 version goes out first ......cant beleive it!
APRIL, why do they allways delay the ddr3 boards, dont get it!!
now im gonna get the premium board instead.. ASUS never have problem getting out ddr3 boards, nor gigabyte, but ofcourse DFI as usal NEVER get out their board while other do..... actually this time i beleived they do couse they shows up their super board even before the CeBit... and now what? APRIL?!
amagaad, never stops does it.
Damn it don't get money until the 25th otherwise I would book it at mobopro :( I really need to retire my RD600.
So how much did they quote you for shipping? I'm might order one myself if shipping is not ridiculousQuote:
I emailed them about sending one to Australia, which they will do for a hefty charge.. They told me mid April tentative ETA for for the T3R, but obviously that can change.
The price for shipping was a silly $120-$150 US via FedEx or $50+ via regular US postal service.
However I have spoken to a DFI distie in Australia and they say they should be arriving here mid April as well. When they give me the prices I can hook you Aussie guys up with one if you are interested.
Any news on when this board is coming out? It is now nearly mid april and i have yet to hear any news of the price, date anywhere...
This blows... there's absolutely no news about delays or anything... might be cancelled :(
from DFI Europe:
"The DDR3 variant of this board is not yet available and it's ETA is unknown. The DDR2 variant is available thou."
Dont understand DFI really...
why not just say SOMETHING...anything at all..
Nahalem will be old before this boards gets out :)
This mobo will be available in June for sure. My sample is on the way. I will post all results as soon as possible.
June...not to long then considering it was meant to come out in march. Oh well atleast it we be nice and polished by the time it comes out, unlike my Asus Maximus Extreme mobo that was rushed to the market and has given me know end of trouble. I just hope the x48-T3R is worth the wait.
Motherboardpro are taking pre-orders :)
Shouldn't be too long for you peeps then. The only problem for me is i am located in the united kingdom, dfi doesn't have a distributer in the UK so read somewhere so it takes us even longer then you peeps have already had to wait.
I know scan computer has the board on there site but its been on there since the end of march so that really doesn't mean alot.
Scan do this with alot of new tech put it on there site for pre-order months before it becomes available.
I suppose if there shop has this new tech on there site where as other do not, it makes them look good, irrelevant to whether they have it in stock or not. Anyways unless DFI have got there act together and sorted themselves out i think i might have to buy from america or wait another 2/3 months :D
Typical DFI delays... I bet it comes out with a beta bios too. They shouldn't release anything until these boards are ready to go... I guess you can't get the foxconn either so screw em both i say. :p:
