AMD Athlon 64 LE-1620, Singlecore, 1024Kb L2-Cache, 90nm, F3-Stepping

Hi,

because i didn't found any results over the internet with this CPUs, i bought me two of them. :)

One 0742BPMW and one 0742DPMW.

At the moment i test the BPMW a little bit. 3200MHz 1,44V stable so far. Now running 3300MHz 1,44V for about 30 minutes. (switched to 3300MHz when the 3200MHz 2 hours are finished, but didn't stopped Prime95)

For sure not. ;)

No 90nm AMD can go stable higher then ~ 35xxMHz with normal water or aircooling. It is a bit strange but a fact. My friends 6400+ BE do 3500MHz 1,376V stable, but a few more MHz and it is over. Same for my 6000+ stable up to 3500MHz then fini. Don't know why.. :down:

Nope, imho this are Windsors with one core disabled. Stock settings are 2400MHz 1,2V. :)

Testing the 0742DPMW now, error with 3410MHz 1,44V after a few seconds.. :(
Now running 3300MHz 1,44V. The BPMW primed 3510MHz with 1,44V..

But maybe it is better with cold, lets see. :toast:

Too bad its so slow compared to a C2D to do some competetive benching with it :/

But on the other hand, overclocking AMD is something for eal guys with all the BIOS options available :)

Your right, it is really slow compared to a intel, but important for me is the fun with overclocking, not the result alone. And i was really bored with my intel stuff.. Just more FSB, more Vcore, better cooling --> good result. What is about tweaking, timings etc.? It's so much fun with AMD! :D

I have an BE-2400 but no good oc board (m2a-vm).
Reached around 3,3GHz with watercooling. Today max is ~3GHz with 1,6V. :mad:

CPU requires ~3W less than an X2 3800+ EE in idle and ~15W less under load (10x multi and 1,2V).

Hope it does better in M3A (if it ever arrives).

There is also a 65nm G2 Sempron (LE-1250), those results whould also be interesting.

Strange hary, max htt on my crosshair is 412,5 MHz too. I can boot into xp with 450 MHz, but it only registers as 412,5(wich is correct) You noticed this? Great results both of you btw!

Hmm, i boot with 408MHz and then using clockgen, at >413MHz system always freeze.

Honestly I think you just saved me $130!!!!!! The stuff I run is all basically single core apps and I was wondering today if I really need the 6400BE to go balls to the wall for what I do....

That one runs 2h of Prime95 with 3510MHz 1,44V and normal ambients. Still a good CPU for gaming. The other 1620 does only 33xxMHz with 1,44V, but that is ok too.

Either way, I'll buy two and send the weak one back!!!!

I just installed windoze on my new build and have starting to play with my LE1620.

After a few hours' fiddling, it's running at 3.2G / 1.35v (stock is 1.2), with the stock heatsink! (It IS pretty cool indoors, about 55F/12C)
It's running an overnight stress test at 3.3 as I type. A big-ass Zalman is on the way, and I really hope to see 3.5+ with a little more voltage.
Maybe I can give you and your fantastic chip a run for the money! :D

I benched just outside, with an ambient of around - 1°C. Board was the Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe.

how does this processor compare to the intel celeron D 347 which is a very good overclocker or the intel celeron 440? I have seen the D 347 going to 5 ghz in some reviews.

Juicing it to 1.5v gets me 3.35, just, and I'm real hesitant to give it much more with the stock heatsink - things get toasty in a hurry! Even if a big big fan will get me 3.4+, the extra heat generated at high V runs contrary to the philosophy I had in mind when building the system. I think I'll settle for 3.1~3.2 at lower voltage. (When the Zalman arrives, I'll be sure to give it another go and report any improvement. What's a reasonably safe voltage level to run on air?)

On the other hand - maybe I can find an excuse to buy another one.... ;)

Temperature is anything with this new F3 CPUs! Sometimes it is even better to lower voltages to get a higher stable clock, than up the Vcore. Try a better cooler and i think you will see way better results. (without any guarantees for sure :D)

Not too many records for this out there right now, the single cores seem to be forgotten. I have a feeling in 2008 there are going to be a LOT more though!

Seems as these CPUs are nice. A single-core CPU would be nice for old games if it works at higher freq's than dual cores.

No clue yet what else.... the DPMW sample didn't do as well, but we don't have a lot of testing and statistics from this thread yet. I have two on the UPS truck coming in Friday.

Well i have a 0741 CPMW ...My Asus M2N32 deluxe bios is 1201 version ..It dosnt support this chip ...But i managed to get 3.25Ghz with 1MSpi = 25s:D Thats 1s slower than my 6000+@3.5ghz:shocked:

Ive tried the 1402bios no go dosnt load windows ! Ive tried 1503bios ,,Same thing so im stuck with the 1201...Unless theres a version i dont kwow about,,,This is the best i can do with unsupported Bios...I cant read temp in bios,Dont know if its good... 2.4ghz= 8c 3.25ghz =13c ,,it would be nice to read my heat range..Ive only raised the CPU to 1.5vcore...My memory and board setting will act up if i try to push more with out Bios.

The 1402 and 1503 bios work but wont post windows no matter what! Oh well..This Chip is to Replace my Orleans 3200+which is only a 2.0ghz...Ill Oc the Le to 2.8ghz on that mobo... Nice little single core for 55bucks no dout about it:up:

The second shot is actually below the stock voltage for this chip :).

I set it arbitrarily at 1.4v (actual, set to 1.3875 in BIOS). I have a feeling it would be be stable at lower voltages as well... just not at stock volts ;).

The main issue I'm having right now is I can't get the HTT over 300. It's a bit flakey over 294. I'm kind of wishing I had that 12x multi now :D. This is a NICE chip. I'll post the stepping tomorrow most likely. Any assistance with the HTT issue would be appreciated. I'm going to try the latest BIOS to see if that helps.

I was having problems with the new 1402bios and 1503bios...I couldnt open windows....

I found that if your running 500MHZ ram it like to be set to 1066 to run ...Im now running 1603 Beta with my 6000+ to work out some bugs and then i may put my LE1620 back in and give it another shot ,,Now that i Have a working bios made for the LE/Phenom!It takes different settings that what it used to be with my 6000+...And @ 13x270 ,,it post me @ 4000mhz when its suppose to be 3.5ghz..So i have some work to do:shakes:

With all the same settings as the 1201 bios,,This new 1603bios is 2s slower in superPi....Im trying to work that out ...Cpu-Z wont show what my Ram is set to...I know its suppose to be 1000mhz @14x250 with the 1066/divider..But i cant read my fricken ram.!

Now with the DFI 790FX-M2R and just air! :D

Some tweaks together :) Do you use copy waza with 1M? Sometimes give ma up to 0.4s hit in 1M and somtimes it's 1s worse time. SPi is strange benchmark :shrug:

790FX-M2R is as fast as K9A2, or M3A32. Which board do you use?

Did a fresh install of my windows and improved my previous 3000MHz 1M record by 0.030s! Screenshoots are already updated. :toast:

Ok, nforce 5 is a bit slower then full tweaked 790FX, but just about ~ 0.050s. But your board looks like a great clocker! Had some problems with my Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe.. Never thought someone can hit 600MHz memory on nforce 5.. :p:

Well finally everything got here! I'm not as lucky as funkflix mine are both CP's I guess I get to try fooling with them now. Going to make sure these two new sticks of Ballstix work out well first though.

My CPU is about 8h prime stable at 3370MHz with 1.45V @ bios (real: 1.44V idle and 1.46 stress). Scythe Ninja.

~ 3300MHz should be doable on the most 1620s. :)
