good weeks Conroe E6600 L628 retail?!
-
Yea 28 was pretty good. It didnt need a lot of vcore like my 24. I should have try it on a P5B for better 1:1 timing. :)
-
-
platform??
im thinking of getting a E6600 , 6700 when it drops price (like that will happen anytime soon) researching some good batch

Wow, 4GHz on air... these E6600s keep getting better and better.
Looks like a P5B Deluxe theteamaqua.
-
Ahahah. Nice job as usual coolaler. You are one of the coolest OC'ers I've ever seen. Love the sig too. What does it max out on air? Doesn't have to be stable...
-
I have a week 27 e6700 that loves to eat voltage :I
3.5 with 1.52vcore. 25*C idle 50*C full load.
3.6 @ 1.6 fails prime @ 1 hr prob due to heat.
-
my week 28 is doing 3ghz flat on 1.32v (perhaps less, havent tried) on the stock cooler
i dont know if thats a good thing yet or not
i jsut know on 1.32v (1.35 in bios) and stocker it doesnt do more than 3.06ghz...

what batch is yours Andrew

excellent CPU coolaler
this thing is better than lots of B1 Step5 CPUs
-
I'm wondering would the P5W dh perform as well as the p5b deluxe using an e6600? Many people are switching from the p5w dh to the p5b deluxe because of maybe better overclocks? Is that right?
-
-
Any chance that board has the c2 revision? (Pardon my ignorance)
-
interesting
on your box your version # says D63625-002 and has a 09/06 package date.
mine says version # D63625-001 and has a pacage date of 08/23/06 and mine is also a week 28 as well.
wonder what the version change means and why your week 28 was packaged so much later.
you'd think by the time yours was packaged week 28+ would be out.
either way, nice o/c. i never understand how some people get so lucky as to get such good chips so frequently! :)
-
if you use
CoreTEmp what is ur temp like?

has anyone decoded these yet
or is the A/B just part of the batch number and is relatively meaningless unless you are matching it to the same
-
Coolaler this is gonna sound dumb'
i am new to intel lol
if your running dual channel
shoudlnt the memory be in yellow - yellow
black - black?
cause i see you have it in yellow - black
also do u trust asus probe over core temp lol

I've seen that before... mfg. week doesn't neccessarily have to be the pkg date.
-
where did you get it at newegg?
-
Thank you Coolaler for the great news :toast: .
Sorry to intrude but can you tell me whether the P5W DH will have nearly the same OC potential as the hot P5B Deluxe. A lot of people have been using the P5B Deluxe lately.

another "gonna be stupid" question...
why does everyone always highlight the 'GO' in orthos?
and
what does taking a picture of your monitor prove that a screenshot doesnt? i understand that this suggests that it isnt photoshopped, but you could just as easily photoshop THEN take a picture of teh photoshopped image (set as desktop or something, who knows)

sometime, make picture is easy to catch, when CPU full loading, how can u scrennshot;)

-
i still can't figure out how u ran dual on that asus motherboard
shoudlnt the memory be in yellow - yellow
black - black?
cause i see you have it in yellow - black
i thought you have to colour match to get Dual channel going
yellow yellow, black black
like my p5wdh orange orange, black black..
or am i wrong
-
the board has been vmodded heh , so dont expect this happens to u unless u vmod

it runs in dual channel regardless of the slot..........coolaler always runs the same config on all motherboards

Like others have said, it's not the week, but a good chip that matters
I have an E6600 Week 28 and it requires 1.58V @ 3.5ghz
-

the important FACT is that it loads at a given vcore........so whatever that vcore is you should be able to do this on any and every motherboard........................that is.....on non-modded boards with droop you will set a higher value in bios BUT it is load vcore you want to measure:)
-
oh is that because of the mod?
or just in general?
-
i got my week 28 today, it has an 8/29 pkg date. its a l628A and -001.
on my p5w it needs 1.600 (actually needs a little less) to hit 400 fsb.
im running 1.625 (1.59 real max) in the bios right now at 411x9=3699mhz.
coretemp shows 40-42*C idle on each load (on water) and 59*C max on load.
I have the old p5w revision btw, bios 1403.
-
Could you expect the same or close results with a P5W DH, but if m0da is correct then the P5B Deluxe will be the better choice.
-

better results according to a few users which compared the two......50-80MHz more with P5WDH at same vcore

i don't know there is not a hell of a lot info on C2 so i wouldn't hold my breath for it unless there is something major that C2 brings which i doubt it will
-
Its definitely better than my week 28 6600 which requires 1.46vcore loaded for 3.4ghz 24hrs prime stable, around 3ghz at default vcore, couldn't even get it to post at 9x400 on my ds3.

ok so others are pretty close if you are saying they need a vcore bump from 1.34 >> 1.37 at 3.6GHz :) :) that is still mighty nice........sooo how many did you test :D hehehehe

weird that the dual 32m run started at 3.888 ghz and ended at 3.903 Ghz
Nice CPU there.

If you've ever actually run Orthos, or the previous single core version SP2004, then you'll know the the highlighting of the text "GO" is done by the program itself. It alternates between "G", "GO", "O", "[none]" and then repeats. It does it so you know your PC hasn't locked up without reaching for the mouse and moving it etc :)

I thought early batches were usually better overclockers...
I lined up for nothing, should've just waited out, better overclocker, better price...
-
well,
I'm about confused as CRAP now. I understand the C2 to be a chipset revision. but to WHICH chipset? 965 or 975?
I've got an early P5W DH, not sure which is the most 'current' revision. Can someone INFO me?
I have an E6600 that i'm pretty unhappy with. To hit 3.2 (357FSB) needs 1.5Volts (set in BIOS) and runs around 60C at 100% on water.
I'm about to build another gaming/LAN box on a Conroe. Think I'm going to use a E6400 with a P5B. Seems to be a decent OC potential there too. Should at least do 3.2 - now i just need to decide on an air cooler. Water cooling is nice for a PC that never moves, but this rig will be on the go a LOT. Prefer to keep it light and low maintenance. AIR cooling is best for that IMO.

hello,
I have a L628A347 and I do 3.6 ghz SP2004 @ 1.45v real with an XP90C
I need Tuniq tower.
Coolaler, What's your complete step ?

my week 26 only needs 1.35 volts to do 3.8ghz, but then it's an e6400 :) hehe

you sure mate
have you got some Orthos prime screens and have you measured that your board is not severly overvolting there as 1.35V at 3.8Ghz does NOT sound right to me

My L627 with TT BT, ASUS P5WDH and Rhino PC2-6400

on the hardforum conroe db there are no week 26 6400 doing over 3400 at any vcore.
the 3 that hit 3600 are at around 1.5v vcore. so i think you are.............
lucky?
very truly yours,

that's quite unbelievable imo. I dont know why a lot of people standard of vcore is in windows with vdroop. My standard is what you can boot with and what you set in the bios.

thats weird, ive been using both for a whiiiiile, and it has never happened...
heres a recent one:

EDIT and i know by your explanation this screen could have happened at the 'none' point but i assure you mine does no highlighting by itself

How do i find out if my mobo has rev C2? I mean where on the board does it say that? Near the NB?

Ok, I just videod SP2004 on one of my other rigs...

You have to wait about 60seconds (see it count down in the bottom right).
The only way I can explain this not happening on yours is if the highlight color of your windows theme (eg when you open a menu and mouse over an item) is the same shade of green as that seen in Orthos/SP2004 :)
-

That, or he simply unchecked "additional notification" in Orthos which turns the highlighting off LOL

Here's how SP2004/Orthos can notify you of any errors it catches...
1) The num/caps/scroll lock lights blink on and off
2) The green GO sign turns into a red STOP sign
However, if your PC locks up before SP/Orth catches the error then it won't have a chance to do any of the above two things.
If you have the highlighting on, normal operation would show it moving. If it doesn't move then you'll know straight away that your PC has locked up :)
(As for the arrow, PhotoShop shapes tool makes it quick and easy :D )

- i thought it was my keyboard that did the numlock, good to know
- i know about the red/stop
usually to see if its working/frozen... i just look at the duration and/or move the mouse...

If users are running SP/Orth on a rig that isn't right next to them, for example across the room, then it's handy to have the highlight. It's easier to spot from a distance than it is to squint and see if the smaller details are changing.
Don't worry, I'm not trying to force you to use it. It's just good feature for those in the situations like I described above :)
-
no i wasnt arguing anything either, just wondering why my orthos was so much different
ive been unchecking all teh boxes ever since ive been using it, to be honest i thought additional notification was related to the MBM temp reading and whatnot which i also have unchecked

Ver. 002 already? Nice chip:toast:

I am happy with 9x400 = 3.6....
but now I wonder what is holding me back, is it the cpu/heat etc? I am on air with the tt bt, and anything over 400fsb fails..... any input appreciated ;)

i want one of these great steppings :) (anybody know where to get em?)

12s 1m SPi @ 400mhz. LUCKY! time for a higher multiplier for me. lol.

OK, dumb question time....
Why are people Photoshopping the last digits of the numbers off of the pictures they post of their CPU's???
Andrew

http://drunken-student.co.uk/pics/pc/Conroe/Conroe.JPG
Still WIP at the mo, P5B vanilla seems to have dodgy vCore settings in bios... 1.7 bios = 1.57 via DM. 4ghz pi stable should be possible with some ice in the water, current max below - this is under DD TDX.
The Week 28 chips seem fairly decent!

Highland3r,
Is that also a cpu like coolaler, I mean the "B" version? Sorry if I didn't catch on, but you did not show the batch number or pack date? Were you told not to release that information? I'm am just a little curious.
By the way nice results.

I know lol like it's a big secret or something. My L628A269 has the same oc potential.

Yeah WTF is up with covering the thing up? Who friggin' cares?

So you just showed that a retail can reach the same overclock as an (ES) with the same voltage. Shame on me for not understanding you coolaler. :D
(I hope I understood you right)
Oh yeah that is great news, but the question is will the "B" version be consistently better than the (ES) chips when released into the market?
-
-
coolaler, what`s the reason behind behind the label / stepping covering up just like Highland3r did ?
-
Makes things harder for people to RMA their own CPU's as someone elses :)
-
OK, I give up...
Please educate me.
I have a dead CPU (which has never happened in my life), and I have YOUR CPU serial number, etc.
How does that help me to RMA my CPU????
Please explain,
Andrew

The FPO/Batch number is not the serial number since it is not unique, neither is the pack date. Even if someone was to attempt an RMA and claim their FPO/Batch was L1234 when in actual fact it's L5678 don't you think Intel would notice once they receive the CPU?
