[coolaler's result]DFI Lanparty UT NF590 SLI INTEL
-
Coolaler san , I see a lot of sexy pictures ...
but where are thre results master ? XD ...
-
looks great, waiting excited for results! :D
-
Same question. :D Anyway, nice test-config. ;)
-
Signed up for updates :)
Hope it works better then the last one :)
NOT only in performance clock for clock but that it can clock better :)
-
Are we going to see some high FSB with nVidia IE ? :)
Another question is : where can we get those Zaward RSP-530W PSU in Europe ?
-
-
wow those psu cables look beefy hehe
-
Vdim 3v?:slobber: How about max fsb?

The look very slick  now if only this board can deliver
-

Lol only max FSB 1300 and nF4 northbridge.........
-
independant clocking of mem and fsb? :slobber:
FSB max 1300, does this mean that with the initial bios it's limited to a 325 fsb?
-
Just 325 of FSB ????? :nono: I hope its not finally there...

Nice board, pics and 3d results Coolaler
Have you tried seeing if clockgen/setfsb works or anything? :)
-
-
It's gotta go higher than 325!
when i asked, they emailed me back and told me their engineers had cracked it. - Almost a month ago!
Though the fact this is updated old NForce4 technology and that I really wasn't interested in SLi made me consider against getting one.... then the P5B had mad results and I was sold!
Pity, cos I think this board looks so sexy :D
-
-
Looks good coolaler but we do want to see some OC action ;)
-
What's that LTD Ferquency means?!... I used to see that on AMD systems..
Huumm... Is that the multi of memory controler on the FSB?!?... Can we lower it, so that we can raise the CPU ferquency, and the FSB under 1300mhz (seems to be the limit by bios)... Those this makes sense?!?... Or i'm imagining things?!
-
-
looks good keep it coming

300 max bios? new bios higher fsb?

Hot CPU temps coolaler....82C in one of your pics!

damn lovely vdimm..but how come low vcore?:(
more oc to come?:D

Is it dead yet? I know FUGGER killed one at 300fsb. And one at 265 maybe?
At 300fsb is all she wrote for this motherboard?

i hope not that would be a big disappointment, i guess its time to wait for a rd600 board
-
come on, higher than 300
*crossed fingers*
-
ya know guys he is testing it the way things should be tested little by little test it, see how it compares at different levels with the other chipsets.
raise it some more.. test it more...
now.. although i agree that DFI isnt known for crappy boards. they are also known to not have a good Intel line. they have historically had troubles internally with their relationship with intel. so for them to offer more intel i think is great.
but only time will tell..... and ill be, as we all are, keeping my eyes on these threads.
-
1300.....
Wow,
I am really underwhelmed. FSB isnt the only thing that matters but i can't imagine anyone serious about overclocking could hack that limit.
Hopefully the RD600 is as good as promised.
I)ickie
-
Hmm, guys.... did i not see something or what? I believe the "New Mem Speed" is limited to 400-> 1300 (DDR ofcourse)
If this board indeed supports indepenent memory overclocking.... then there is NO evidence that this board is limited to 325Mhz FSB. Its just limited to a max of 1300 Mhz DDR2 speeds. Which is plenty for a initial test.
Lets hope coolaler shows us a preety 500 x 8 :D
-
Bleah this mobo are good only for the layout nothing other in my opinion...
300 Max Fsb really sux... it's a funny limit....

You got it....:woot:
example:
200x5=1000
200x4=800
etc...etc...1-5 is ldt multiplier
-
Looks like pretty good so far! Hopefully OC will look as good as board :)
-
The board looks so sweet, but damn what a major setback it doesn't clock good. Believe me, if it could do 500FSB, DFI would've had it in even its earliest BIOS release.
-
this board sucks.. dfi... you broke my heart
-
Seems as if the board sucks. INTC should work with Nvidia to make a good chipset now that AMDTI has been formed. They are going to need a good third party. Obviously Nvidia has not quite realized how to make a high clocking northbridge for fsb.

This: http://www.iamxtreme.net/coolaler/DF...LIINTEL/19.JPG
"new FSB Speed (QDR) - 790-1300 => max fsb = 325.

I agree. If it would be stable at higher speeds, they wouldn't limit it so low.

IMO it's nvidia that broke your heart.
This is just a revised nf4 chip. How long has nf4 been around? nvidia is getting lazy.

Yes, and i think that everybody is missing that... I think that the LDT Multiplier is our "missing door" to go higher on the CPU and RAM.
After reading TonyOCZ article about Intel's chipset and knowing that Conroe sets 1066 Strap, 267mhz is the nominal valor of FSB, let's see...
267x4=1068(1066)
267x3=801(800)
267x2=534(533)
.....
267x5=1335(1333) -> X6800EE
I have a E6600 that can reach 400 (400x4=1600mhz) FSB x9 = 3600mhz
Now if that LTD Multiplier is what i imagine... Let's see:
400 (400x3=1200mhz) FSB x9 = 3600mhz
or
400 (400x2=800mhz) FSB x9 = 3600mhz
Those anyone see what i see?!...
Coolaler...Show us the "Big Apple".. :toast:
-
Lets hope ur onto something there.
-
If it's only going to go to 300FSB .. it be an all show no go mobo . and coming from DFI that be sad...

If that LDT Multiplier is for the memory controler on the FSB, it means that you still can lower the multiplier and push the FSB above 300mhz...
300x5=1500(wall on NF590?!)
300x3=900 (lower FSB) x9 = 2700mhz, means you can 500x3=1500 x9 = 4500mhz!! :woot:
Do i make any sense?!?
-
coolaler, do some 7x and 8x multi max oc tests!
im sure a lot of us would appreciate it..:woot:

What's up with this? He's using an X6800, it should be able to go way beyond x11 multiplier?

You are talking about LDT/HT frequency. You can't do 3x500 because there is no 500 in bios but only 1300 quad pumped = 325 :) Your max cpu speed would be 9x325 assuming you have 6600

common rule of thumb was ldt multiplier x fsb should = lower then 1000 when overclocking
hey cooler, do the new dfi boards still support the cmos reloaded function? i think thats what its called
the bios presets you can label
i LOVED that

yea with the new bios update, the p5b is replacing my ds3

you never know things might change with this board too.
I have just preordered my Asus 590sli and after looking at this itseems quite scary , unless the temps are real and thats what is stopping coolaler

You only see 1300 quad pumped... If that is the only visible option, what's wrong with that?!.. You have the LDT multiplier option... Who need's FSB?!
There's 3 variables in equation regarding FSB, LTD Multiplier, Quad pumped FSB and nominal FSB. We can always change two, the third will result from other two.
If you have 1300 Quad pumped FSB limit and lower LTD to 3x, what FSB you will have?!... 1300/3= 433 FSB x9 (CPU multi) = 3900mhz!!
Get it?!

man i hope it goes higher, i have the P5NSLI (570) and my max stable for 24/7 is 333mhz. I just bought the board because it was cheap and hoping it would last me till the 590 was out... dont tell me mine goes higher

Damn, I was drooling over this thing. I thought THIS is my board. :dammit:

ok that makes no sense.
the LDT multi and Freq. has no effect on your FSB.
just cuz you set 1300mhz LDT doesnt mean your FSB instantly jumps up now does it ? no
it didnt mean that on amd and it doesnt mean that now.
-
Well, I like my DS3. Thanks, coolaler. :)
-
-
nice job !
temperatures looks pretty hot for a small oc :/
bad sensor/bios ?

Do you care to read my posts, again?!.. It's appears you didn't understand..

DFI's tool reads within 1 degree of coretemp with my 975X/G. Those are very similar to the temps I get with my system on stock voltage and my ultra-90.
-
Sir Coolaler , do you think it will get better? or this is it.
Man , i have ordered mine and this is making me regret it , but its cool in the gaming department , isnt it? I have a 7950 and thatswhy i have optedfor this route.

Nice going Coolaler, now crank it up ;)

Yeah, I hope 300 wasn't where he was stopping. If the board doesn't do at least 350FSB I'll be looking to the 975X boards. (fingers crossed for 400+ FSB. :) )
-
Hope is the way forward , to hope is a good thing
-
I like how the SATA ports are positioned b/c now huge vid cards won't block them, smart thinking on their behalf.
-
Guys, I just spoke with DFI and they told me that the selling point for this board is SLI. If you're looking for over 400FSB, the Infinity 975X/G is the best they have ATM... until RD600 is released.
So, this board is seriously for Conroe + SLI and you need a high-multi CPU to get the best of this board due to low FSB overclocking. It does about 350FSB, which is clearly a chipset limitation. DFI is only doing their best to work around the chipset. Nevertheless, pair this board with an X6800 and 2x7900GTX, and you should have a mean machine.
Btw, the selling price will be around USD$240 and the board will be available in Oct.
Cheers!

yup definately
and johnmike
i understood fully your sitting there tyring to say adjusting the LDT multi/freq messes with your fsb your wrong i mean totally dead wrong.

so how am i supposed to misunderstand that ?
thats like saying just because i have my ram running at 1000 mhz that means my FSB is 500 .its not. same thing your trying to say
the LDT bus was a stupid thing to begin with nvidia should have jus ttotally left that out, ldt bus has no real world effect on speeds anyways it never has.
anyways im sure he is pushing this board harder and harder so lets just keep our fingers crossed.
-
Poor C19A, even with DFI's expert massaging it still is a dud for overclocking. Without the upward multi's its gonna be very hard to compete on this board.
Try a Kentsfield with 17x??
I expected the DFI 590 here yesterday, a few boards are in the US now.
-
cant understand why its so diffucult for them to do a decent sli board? why dont they just make chipset 975 into a sli board?we see good oc boards which kan actually run sli with proper drivers ,so whats holding them back

And it's been a year+ since NF4 and nvidia still has issues? My fingers are still crossed for some better results from the Asus NF590 as it has a little better power distribution but this does not look good at all.

Lestat, where did i spoke or wrote anything regarding RAM speeds?!
I don't know what is the real mean of the LDT multi on Intel system.. I'm just guessing here!!
If that LDT multi is for the FSB Quad pumped (800/1066/1333), my "theory" mayte have some sense... After reading TonyOCZ article and looking at Coolaler pics, that came up may mind... but that's it, i have no more to say.
I will wait for more Coolaler information...

c19 is severly fsb limited fugger. c55 is new SLI chipset for conroe. ALL of These 19 variations are just a stop gap, and perform very similarly. To really push the board, it will need mods even then the fsb results aren't spectacular. The mem can crank though.

Testing a Kentsfield w SLI-cards on this board would be interesting. If you or coolaler have the possibility to do that, please do so.
btw. I guess it has been night in coolaler-land but the sun should be about to rise...? Maybe that is why he has not posted for a few hours? ;)
-
Yep my bad for calling them all one in the same C19. Its easy to make that connection when they all perform exactly the same.

i will back away from this you really arent understandning what im saying.
just a problem during the translation from my english i guess.
nvm
p.s.
ldt bus doesnt effect the natural state of the fsb. the amoutn you can increase the FSB sure.. but not where the fsb is the fsb is always what ever you tell it to.
the ldt bus is an independant creature from the fsb
ok i said i was backing out.. sorry lol.

NIce Pics, but damn, show us some high-fsb-action :D

My guess is that coolaler is having a very difficult time pushing this board beyond 300FSB. Either that or he's in contact with Oscar Wu right now to figure this thing out!
-
Yea, I really hope you are able to get it passed that
-
So DFI make another Intel flop!!!
-
pStill early days , there is still hope , maybe?
-
coolaler please tell us what the max FSB is, we're all dying to know!!!

I think its before release dates and he is not allowed to say. Stop people from buying , I have preorderd mine so it aint going to make a diffeerence to me.
He is not telling you for a reason and that is for definate. I may be wrong but he got the board before us and he has to agree on things for when he did get it.
Well thats what I think , he himself seems like a nice chap but something is stopping him.

It must be a FSB (or lack thereof) NDA... :)
