  1. Don't be so sure. I can get cheap TEC's and the wattage really won't matter because they'll just be used to help chill a rad. Use large heatsinks (TEC's come with them attached) to cool the TEC. Better idle and load temps with chilled water.

Or I could be the ultimate cheap ass and just toss my rad in a bucket of ice water & salt. LOL! If copper tubing wasn't so expensive, I'd try the coil across the basement floor idea. My basement floor rarely goes above 63-65 F but the tubing to make a good coil is cost prohibitive.
  2. Gill your cheap butt wouldnt allow for it.
  3. Chilled water.... Hmm... Thinking.
  4. yeah i know..

its a little dream i have on cheating thermodynamics.

Of course it can never be done, but i can dream cant i?
  5. the shell would be cold, and therefore force the ambients around it to be cooler.

There is no such thing as free energy.

Of course you would need a decient shroud, so you dont lose too much coldness.
  7. My comment was a joke, yet you call me a n00b.....

Anyway, with lower wattage TEC's you still need a good HS/Fan setup. The colder you get the hot side, the colder the cold side is as I'm sure you are aware. The problem lies in the delta. They are just like WC rigs, the higher the delta, the better they work.

Hmm interesting. What sort of contact is there between the casing and the tubes/fins on the rad? Enough to acheive good heat/cold tranfer to something like a TEC?
  9. low wattage means low heat output.

your using more tecs at lower voltage then 1 massive tec at higher voltage.

So you'd have 3 tecs off the side of each for a total of 6 tec's which can easily be cooled by an air sink.,
  10. But TEC's will need to shed a LOAD of heat so you'd need yet another loop to cool the TEC's.
