    well done tcorbyn
  2. Depends on the person. I do a lot of work for friends/family so would obviously not charge as much as to someone I don't know (or like in some cases). If I have to go quite a way then I will charge "call out" which is £30, hour rate is £20 - £30 depending on the person. First time visits always give them free call out (and make sure they know it) then £10/h and you've got your customers bagged. An overcharged customer will not call you back! Its a question of seeing the pounds through the pennies.

On to the mobo, most x58 mobos are under £300 (only £10 more for the REII) if you want budget performance go with the Gigabyte UD3 x58. If your looking for slightly bigger go for the UD5 of GA-Extreme (the only difference is the GAExtreme has a stock NB watercooling block included but they are crap anyway!

I might just have to do that?
How do u charge per hour for computer repairs?
I haven't opened my MOBO so will most prob sell it on ebay

The REII was my first choice but isnt easy on the wallet.
What is the best MOBO (X58) I can get for under 3 bills.
  4. Dont you mean P6T Deluxe? Dudde I would have gone for the GAx58 Extreme or UD5 over that board. Ive actually had 3 (YES ING THREE) P6T deluxe boards and they all died on me or were faulty out of the box. Stepped up to an REII and its bloddy brilliant!

    I work m8...

-Put out a few buisness cards and flyers for cheap computer repairs and wait for the phone to ring!
-Make sure you give everyone you work for a few buisness cards and ask them to tell their friends.
-Dont charge more than £10 per hour because if someone feels bumped there not gunna call you and people would always rather tell their friends about a bad experience than a good one.

i'll have to pass on the RAM. Soz

  7. Thanks man,

    The powder coating place is:
    20 Lower Park Road,
    New Southgate,
    LONDON,
    N11 1QD

    Tel: 02083618553

They are great but make sure you scratch the hell out of the metal before you take it... The fin gills are so smooth some of the paint is coming off on mine!

I would say go Core i7 if your budget allows you! I would recommend it again to anyone who can, Intel have truly pulled it out of the bag with this one. I was involved in some early testing of the i7 about 3 months before release and I knew it was great then, but I had no idea it would be this much of a success now! Having said all that, i7920 + XMS3 ram + Gigabyte UD3 wont cost you much more than a full Q9550 setup.

I am selling my ram if you want some for your rig, 6Gb XMS3 1.5v 1333Mhz (runs at 1600Mhz VERY easily). Shoot me an email if interested to tommy_corbyn@hotmail.com.

Don’t let age bring you down man, look a little further to the right and you’ll see I’m not that different from you!
