    Thanks pal for the infos. I flashed back to my original bios and the card is working once more. I have the Powercolor HD 4870 512mb PSC+
    I guess i messed up the bios while tring to modd it and that was the cause. I donīt know if it has a reference pbc in as much as itīs red, it has a zerothem fan with heatsinks, on the mem chips. I donīt know if itīs running hot as it has been under water from the day i received it from the postman. This is my first ATI card and i started messing with it without knowning what makes it tick. Once more thanks for the help and i wish to add you to my friends list.

    Hi,
    I tried your reinstalling vista advice and the problem is still there. I can currently use cat. 8.7 all the other versions are not detecting my HD 4870. Should i flash back to the original bios? actually i have ran out of ideas, any help will be highly welcomed.
