My QPI was set for 1.25v for my 980x. What was really wierd was when I had my 920 C0 then D0 my QPI was 1.50v! I think what made it go down was when I watercooled the QPI/DRAM module on the R2E. I'm not sure if it should have an effect but it did on my system. I 've had the R2E for more than a year now and I've never had problems running 12Gig on this board.
Out of curiosity, what was your QPI voltage set to with 12GB of ram on your 4.5GHz 980x overclock?
