  2. Actually, I have been a strong proponent that benchmarks don't matter. Benchmarks make people feel good about products, but benchmarks don't reflect reality in most cases. With ~5% actually buying top bin processors, comparing benchmarks for processors is often a case of "mine is better" instead of focusing on what customers actually buy.
