why mac has so many function key"F13~F16"

have not touch mac for decade,remeber my fisrt 6100.

so~~long.

almost forgot who to using a mac.haha.

can someone tell me.why mac has so many function key. F1~F16. compare to wintel just has F1~F12:rolleyes:

When they first put Function keys on the Mac, they didn't need a print screen or pause/brake key. Command Shift Three was used instead for screen captures and pause/break functionality is more of a DOS thing. Windows doesn't use it for anything to my knowledge. Many production apps (like Adobe and Quark products) make extensive use of the function keys, often times including F13-F15.
