"Optimal" setting in nVRAID. I was there when he set it up. GREAT performance, the true power of SATA 3G. Makes me jealous, I have the same drives but SATA 150, and his speeds rape mine in both average AND burst.

Don't bother with HD Tach. It favours raid 0 configs big!
I'm pretty sure your raptor performs better in real world scenarios. I know cause i've switched from a 36.7 raptor raid0 config to a single 74gb one.
Leave raid for servers... (http://www.storagereview.com/guide2000/ref/hdd/perf/raid/whyShould.html) ;)

The only thing a single Raptor 74GB has on me is 7.3ms quicker of Random Access time. But i do believe there bit quicker in windows and what not but... how ever you get amazing performance with these drives for only $45 bucks a piece! so thats $90 which isnt bad for 150GB and Quickness :)

HDTach snapshots are next to worthless for performance measurement. The only somewaht useful value is random access time.
Same can be said about forum's common wisdom I guess

Optimal setting sucks, read this thread (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=98643&highlight=crapy)and you know why.

So post a better image:) , this one is kind of crappy.

My results with Raptor Raid 0 128k split is a solid line at 110mb/s through the whole graph. I'll be chaning controllers and data split size next format.

we need a comparison of BF2 loading times: 2x WD800JD 80GB RAID0 vs 1x raptor vs 2x raptor RAID0 etc. Anyone have a raptor and/or WD800JD that could perform some tests?
