I never use my xbox so what if i tryed putting a dry ice tube on its processor, do you think it would still work? Would be interesting to see if xbox can operate at subzero temps.

maybe... but WHY?
EVEN if you COULD manipulate the processor PLL to adjust speed, it would actually ruin your games because they would run at the wrong speed.

I've seen a new xbox watercooled but that's all I would do - anything else is just a waste of time and material in my opinion.

What on earth would you notice from overclocking it? An XBOX runs very different that a computer, you will not gain performance by "overclocking" the XBOX.

no an xbox runs pretty much the same as a pc... there were people that put tualatin p3's and 128 meg of ram in their xboxes but AFAIK they had to solder on the ram/processor
But you won't see a performance boost unless you boot Linux in it.

Go for it man! Be the first to do it! More fame for XS too!
OC it and boot with linux. Then you can run benchys and such. Who cares about in-game? I wouldn't be wasting DICE trying to play a game lol.

I took apart my xbox to see what I was dealing with will post pictures soon.
Its going to have to be a small dry ice pot, the space around the processor is fairly small.

Picture update.
I opened the XBOX and looked under the heatsinks heres what I found.

its a celeron 733 nothing more
and dICE'ing it... sure seems fun but you cant overclock it .. cant do anything...
do the cpu and ram mod. 1.4ghz cpu and another 64meg of ram. the ram is super cheap on the xbs forums.
hell i got a spare baord ill sell you i think if you want to go nutz and mess with things.
i got the 128meg mobo. helps with larger emulators and linux..

dont destroy the xbox. Use it as a medi centre or give it someone / family kids as a present, will make you feel better (i hope)
