no - I was asking if anybody can show me where I can order one via an online merchant and which was good.

I was not asking if anybody had one here for sale - guess I should have reworded it better.

I tried looking online for some and can't find any and was wondering which models were worth the cash.

sorry for the confusion
:D

Sounds good, I've moved it back for ya. ;)

Newegg has a variety of models. Look for one that does dvd+r as well as dvd-r's

Sony DRU500A (http://www.provantage.com/)
Pioneer (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=5&manufactory=1167&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1)
Plextor (http://www.plextor.com/english/products/504A.html) (may not be in stock yet)

Also check out this (http://www.dvdxcopy.net/?a=4603) software.

Yeap, SONY DRU500A or the Pioneer A05.

PS. I don't think the Plextor will be that good, it's just a rebadged NEC :(

Glad to know that. Has Plextor taken to outsourcing some of their products? A lot of people used to depend on the Plextor name and pay a premium for what they thought was indeed a Plextor product.

try browsing their forums. They are VERY knowledgable... and they have a great article on overclocking burners... :D

Keep an eye for the Cendyne 4x DVD burner on Staples website....everyone says it's a rebadged Pioneer A05, and for that price (even lower if you do some hunting for a coupon), you can't beat it.

Cendyne is indeed a rebadged Pioneer, they sell two versions though, The A04, and the newer/faster A05, not sure if all the stores still have A04's .. The Cendyne is heavily discounted by Staples and can be purchased for about $150 using there coupons and rebate....

Have had my Pioneer A04 for almost a year now and It has performed flawlessly... Sony is a nice burner but its kind of pricey, especially considering the advances we are likely to see in DVD burners.....

Also check out this software.
I just downloaded that the other night (got it off KAZzA while looking for the new easy cd dvd creator 6), copied a dvd with default settings and it worked flawlessly. Seems to be great software.
