WTF is goin on with my Maxtor v6 200?

any one got any idea why in HD Tach im getting these results

CPU Util 50%
Average read 12mb
Random Access 14.6ms

my raptors are like 130mb a sec!

any one know whats wrong with my HD???????

i use it for Dvd storage and such

I think the problems right there in the title, maxtor arn't known for making quality drives:(

the drive is running in pio mode that is why it is doing that.
go to device manager and go to the hdd controller and change the mode from pio mode.

btw maxtor drives have a issue with nforce 4 chipset when the maxtor drive is sata2 or sata300 whatever. there is a new hdd firmware to help from thier site aswell.

maxtor is knowen to have issues with NF4 chipsets i have a maxtor i gave away cuz it did the same thing on my board so i traded my Girlfriend for her Western Digital 200 gig lol

under the drive detection settings in the bioses main screen should all be set to auto detect and the drive shouldnt detect as pio mode in windows either if it is check the drive in device manager.

the only problem is its in PIO mode, nothing more.

but why the hell is this in the amd section. just because you have an amd rig doesnt mean every single issue belongs here.

its fixed now... sorted aint it.. where else was i gona post it? these people know NF4 chipset mobos and i heard the maxtor problems with them so i thought these guys wud know better than intel ppl

you fail to realize that SCSI drives are not Normal drives..
Maxtor normal drives Suck.. but they know how to make good SCSI..
