When it comes to the amount of modules of ram is it better to have 2 x 1GB or 4 x 512Mb sticks? And why?

Assuming on amd it would be 2*1gb at the moment, there are a lot of good clocking sets out there for cheaper than 2 good clocking sets of 2*512mb, also theres the disadvantage of running 2t with 4 sticks installed.

Honestly it has all to do with what is more important to you..
Flexiblity or slightly better performance.
Because 2x1024mb performs just ever so slightly faster
but 4X512Mb sticks give you flexiblity with what the set up in your rig is..

Right on thank you for the replys. I am looking at getting some Mushkin memory but I was not sure on how many modules would be better
