Ill pay anyone via paypal $40 to do vmods for the voltage, memory voltage, graphics voltage.

Just Curious,

But why are you looking for so much Vmem? I mean the board tops @ 200fsb, my high quality OCZ runs at 400ddr no problem using 2.8volts. As far as the CPU vcore is concerned why not use the pin wrapping?

oh u mean using the conductive ink to connect the 4 pins under the cpu??

Exactly..That conductive ink stuff will work just fine.

or just get some wire-wrap(blue shield). Take the shielding off and wrap the wire in figure 8's around the 4 pins.. thats what I did.. much easier then using the conductive stuff IMO I am actually waiting for hipro5 to show pics of his Asus P4G8X mods.. should be the same as the Gigabyte..

I examined my board and the 8INXP uses the same DC to DC convertor for Vdimm voltage as the Asus A7N8X, Intersil 6520a, you can check the datasheet here:

http://www.intersil.com/data/fn/fn9016.pdf

So Pin 6 to 20k VR, 20k VR to ground should do the trick, but let me try it first to let you guys know if it works or not.

I did the pin wrap on both my 2.4 and 2.8 and the machine would not boot. It would run for 2 sec and the shut down. Yet I would use the same cpus on my GA-8IHXP and it would boot and register the correct vcore voltage.
Any ideas what it could be?

A very well designed board with all kinds of fail safe mechanisms. :( Perhaps Pin wrapping will not work with this one, I haven't really tried, must be an overvoltage protection which cuts power if Vcore exceeds a certain value. I think mod6bin or some kind of bios editing tool should be the first resort, if this fails I recall 1 russian review site in particular referencing the exact regulator used for vcore and it was located on the Dual power system add-on board, and this is a regulary used IC, perhaps there is some potential with this.

I think you are right. I even tried lower voltages 1.825, 1.775 and it did not work either.

I pin wrapped the 1st 3 pins on my cpu and the 8Inxp would not start...wrapped the 1st 2 pins, now it starts but overvolts to 1.82v in the bios and no way to lower it via the bios... :(

I´ve got that MB and tested the vmod by pin modding and high voltages like 1.825v and 1.85v the mobo had shutted down after running 1 / 2 seconds at 1.825v it even beeped ... then i´ve tried 1.725v because i couldn´t do the vmod to 1.8v or 1.775v or evem 1.75v the cpu is a C1 stepping ...... so i´ve wrapped a thin wire in the 1st 2 pins (1.725v ) and it booted ! ... now voltages in bios would go up to 1.85v .... overvolted it would do 1.9v ..

here is the pict .. the vcore is set at 1.725 default

and here comes a pict of the system .... running with methanol at -35cº ...

miguel which pins did u wrap to get 1.825 volts?

miguel_grade
03-05-2003, 02:47 AM
0 0 0 0 1 = 1.825V .... my cpu is a c1 so the vcore is at 1.525v that equals 0 1 1 0 1 .... to get 1.825v I wrapped pin 1,2 and 3 ! :) and that´s it !

NY thanks man ! ... that bios is sweeeeettt !

hey miguel how do u flash the bios with the modded bios.

Do i send the file "8inxp.rar" to the floppy disk and at bootup type in the name and it automatically flashes it?

miguel_grade

NO.. NO ... NO ...
you have to extract the file "8inxp.rar" then you copy the contents of the extract to the floppy ... then you boot you and flash it !

That bios is crazy i putted my mems at 2-6-0-0 !!!!! wooooouuu!

4600 in sandra .... 9300 in pcmark ... and 6058 at 3dmark03

check it out ...

Hi all
Nobody has tried to make the mod vcore directly to the chip HIP6301 ?
Mod Abit (http://www.ocinside.de/index_e.html?/html/workshop/abit_kg7_vcore.html)
Without to use DPVRM Module......

Maybe
