hi ya guys,

i have a leadtek 7800gtx 256 EXTREME and can clock it to 550/1.39 which gives me a score of 9328.

my cpu is running at stock and therefore my XMS is running at 200mhz as opposed to 250mhz.

if i up the gpu core by 1mhz more it fails the test in coolbits and wont set the clocks. it does not artifact at these speeds and the temps never break 52degrees after 10loops of 05.( is that hot or not?)

is there a way to set the clocks higher?

also will upping my ram voltage allow me to get tighter timings(system ram not video).

sorry for all the Q's guys but i am a total n00b and really want to hit 10K.xtremesystems is the best forum ever so if anyone can help me reach my goal its u guys!!!:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

See if you can crank your Memory to 300Mhz and push your CPU clock as far as it will go.
and you will definately gain a few points running on a clean OS, you might want to try out the current version of mine and Clints Benching OS, it might help

i will give it a go nn step.:) . for some reason though i think my memory will flake out at around 280mhz.i will have a go at maxing out the cpu,i reckon it shud be able to do me aobut 2.9ghz on stock vcore i hope.( only running stock cooler so dont want to push it any higher...

is there any way to dforce the gfx to clock higher without driver test, cos my 78 has the big quaddro FX cooler on it so it doesnt get overly hot.

thanks for ur help.:) :)

Memory speed/ bandwidth is not as important as CPU speed. Up your CPU speed to its max, and factor in a comfortable place for the RAM. Good timings are nice. :)

Yup, yup. Exactly what he said. This will allow you to clock it some more and not have to worry about failing any tests. You should also go into the power user section and enable "force 3D performance", this will also help. But use Riva, it is much better than Coolbits.

550 at stock volts? That is pretty insane for 7800 256 card. Take a look at mods section for modded bios, it gives free 200 points due to tighter memory timings

thanks for the replys guys. :)

i will have a ocuple of runs at 3ghz wen i get back from lectures.hopefully this shud put me closer to 9600-9700.

so 550 on stock volts for my 7800 is gd?i wud like to get it to 560-565 if possible so that i can catch the next 27mhz multi step( form 7800Oc thread).

cud any of u guys tell me wat a safe maximum temperature for a 7800gtx is please?

thanks for ur hlep guys. :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

what are you cooling it with?

ati tool will allow you to set any clocks you want.
and leaving the 2d clock below 300 will allow you to get the gfx ram speed up a lot more. got dads gtx up to , by core, 300/580/530. and the ram up to 733 (1466) on stock volts and cooling.
and lod tweeks are your friend.

im cooling it with the stock HSF, the one off the 512mb gtx with the big fan and pipes.

ncc-1709 i odnt quite get wat u mean by lowering 2d speeds?

thanks for the help guys im nearly there (9862points):):):):):):)
