Ok, hopefuly gunna be getting a conroe set up. Im thinking of getting it a few months after release to get over hype and out of stock etc.

I was just wondering what sort of budget (in English £) i would need for a Conroe, mobo and ram. id like to OC n that so gotta be good ram but not way expensive. thanks!

Hard one to call in my opinion, it'll be clearer after launch once we know how the chips perform, which are good clockers, how they respond to different bandwidth or latency settings, what boards are available.

I'd put a guess at £500-600 but it depends on motherboard prices and the volitile nature of the memory market.

I hope the memory issue won't be such a big deal as it is now.
quality 800MHz DDR2 should become cheaper due to AM2 platform...
