Then I tried to get one last night and they were all 3xxx! They were asking for £2100 for a fiat Seicento 900cc!! Is it me or is that alittle bit expensive? Btw my girlfriend got a quote for £600 on the same car? Bloody chavs arrrrrrrgh!

Back when I was 16 they wanted to charge me 1,000$ a month for my car because of the stuff the guy who gave it to me did to it. It was putting out around 450HP and weighed next to nothing.

Its just crazy how it jumps so much, its really random because women cant even determin angels properly so why the hell is it cheaper for them? The insurance is costing more than the car as is normally the case with people who are unlucky enough to be born recently.

Uhh with those kinds of rates you will pay more than the value of the car fast...

Do you have any points on your record?

Yea. If I was woman I'd get it even cheaper :p: It all depends who you go through I guess. My brother was getting a quote for his 06 civic. First place he went gave him a quote of $2600 per year. Went somewhere else, got a better package for $2000 per year.

Wow for a Civic? Ouch...I pay less than that for my TA...

Though those figures mean nothing without stating age, car, location and how you have your insurance set up with deductibles and what not. It can make a pretty big difference if you tweak it a little.

On my parents insurance I am about 2500 IIRC for my 06' Civic and 03 Accord. I am 19 and the coverage is rather low. but thats what you get for living in a bad part of los angeles where the insurance rates are the highest in the world.

I used to have outrageously high insurance rates when i was younger. When i first got my Audi I had 3 points and was paying $3000/year.

I'm now down to 1 point which goes away soon and pay $1400/year for full coverage on my Evo IX.

I'm 20, 1 yrs NCB Driving a 2002 Volkswagen Golf Anniversary (180bhp)
I'm with Admiral.com paid £2424.82 for 10 months cover.
After adding the modifications (airfilter, diverter valve, uprated brakes etc...) it was in the £2900's then i discovered if i added my mum as a additional driver it took off nearly £400.
So now i pay £2537.15 for 10 months cover with the modifications, Bargin for the Joy it brings IMO!

In most states, car insurance is required in order to drive legally. It helps to protect the people and things that are important to you as the driver. Without it, a person could be sued for thousands of dollars for damages or even have to pay for the funeral of a loved one without any assistance. Especially young aggressive turbo charged drivers. Hehe. Yes, Young drivers have higher quotes of course be cause of the high risk factor for them being new to driving. I recently checked quotes from a broker at www.insurancepaylite.com they have fast quoting system, They’re using an auto coverage analyzer where you have to answer a few question about your financial standing, automobile condition, etc. From this information it will generate what category of coverage you need.

I pay a hair over $400 a year for mine. I got my license about 3 months ago. Granted, we have a 92 chevy 1500 and a 92 mercury tracer on the policy. My dad is listed as the main driver for both, even though the chevy is mine. I think another thing that helped it was that according to the insurance company, I dont drive the 02 F-350:P

I hate the quotes they give us.

I found a solution however. My dad is going to take out a new policy on my car and after a year transfer the years bonus to me. That gives me a 250 quid quote as a named driver on the first year then about 400 on my own next year.

A 1970s Beetle if you're wondering. Might end up with his '68 though.

You cant transfer a no claims discount.

If your running an old beetle try limited milage classics insurance.

Even for young people this should be allot cheaper than mainstream insurers.

Providing your not doing allot of milage.

www.confused.com is pretty good, but you can usually beat the quote they give by putting your deatails into the top 3 recomendations on there own websites.
Oh, and put your mum or sister on the policy this allways drops the price for me. (just dont tell my sister that she is insured to drive my car!)

My dad's said the insurance company would let him if he just moved that policy into my name after the first year. I don't really care, he's paying it, not me.

You think that's bad? I got a quote this morning of £4950 for a 1.0i 3dr 12-Valve Corsa GLS from Alliance Cornhill (whoever they are)... Mind you, I did try to insure it on a provisional license, but even then I wouldn't expect to be quoted more than 2,500 on a group 1 car... >_<

Hmph....Got a quote of £2.2k on a £3.5k '02 Corsa 1.2 SXi....sheesh...

£3321.97, and that was the cheapest (worst was 5K+ IIRC)

ZZR1400 (200 out the box), NCB=0, 1st year riding (Ahem...), fully comp.

needless to say, I didn't buy the bike... (Well, someone was gonna buy it for me, but I would have to Insure it)

got insured for a day's test-ride for £60 though... for a big bike, it's scary fast in a straight line, takes corners well, and Porsche drivers get rather Irate when you pass them on your back wheel at 120:p:
