The new CPU will be manufactured by the 65nm process, allowing it to run cooler. Also, as more chips will fit onto a wafer, prices could go down

For Microsoft, not the consumer. They'll keep putting them out there for what people will pay.

you remember what happened with the PS2 and the original xbox... next year these will cost half as much, and still be a rip. microsoft win the prize for wasting perfectly good hardware :stick: I'd buy one if it could run PC games, but thats not gonna happen any time soon :(

the 65nm processor will run at the same speeds as the original 90nm chip for compatability purposes, it wil just be cooler and ultimately cheaper than the 90nm version. Coolerand less power hungry also means that other components such as power regulation and cooling can be scaled back as well, making for a simpler and cheaper system. - But its hardly and upgrade in the sense that it would perform better than the original version.
On a related note, why is Sony even bothering with 90nm for the ps3 now?

I'm not really a fan of consoles for anything except house decoration. Ther was a time when at christmas i would beg ,my parents for the latest and greatest console but i never played with them for more than a month because since 1999 ive been hooked on online gaming largely thanks to Kingpin:LOC i love the multiplayer mode on that game.

Bull, bud. Metroid may have been good, but real metroid fans saw it for what it was: not a good FPS, but a diversion from an even better game style. Give me my 2D metroid scroller anyday... and now they are even massacring the title on handhelds... nothing is sacred. :(

Goldeneye (LOVED IT!) first time was on a 64" TV split 4 ways, on the N64, that was the ONLY FPS I played, liked and was good at.
Halo gives me a headache.
Not a fan of the other FPS's

try going back to goldeneye, its so weird! I didn't remember that the controlls were so odd,
you can look up/down with he joystick have to use the 'c' buttons.
it was the best game of the time but its kinda hard to get back into now.

Heard loads of problems about 360's overheating, and problems with the power brick. So much so that people have been raising the brick off the ground and moving it from behind cabinets to increase the air flow around it?! Wtf?
This upgrade isn't a bonus - it's required!
I have had zero problems with overheating, but bought a Nyko Intercooler anyway.

Same here.... no problems yet. And I didn't by the external cooler for it.
I guess it helps that I didn't buy one on launch.

I doubt price is going to go down too much until next year or so, maybe then I can pick one up like I did my original Xbox for like $300CAN with 2 games :)
