Hackers who came up with a way of dual-booting Mac OS X and Windows XP on an Intel-based Mac before Apple introduced Boot Camp have now made it possible to add Linux to the mix.

Once you have a BIOS emulator that you can start off from OpenFirmware you are pretty much all set for any x86 OS on these machines.

To my knowledge that Apple solution to support XP is a BIOS emulator.

Remember that all the controller chips in these machines are chips that you find in normal PCs (and Powermacs), so drivers are available anyway. It's just a matter of bootstrapping and some issues to sort out like figuring out where usable memory lives.
