Editing ECU

Hiya,

I want to get a program/hardware through which I could edit data in my ECU, such as fuel mixture, pre-ignition, etc...

All I have found so far is that it should use OBDII interface...

I need this for a VW Passat (newest generation), and any other cars would be great
