17 in america, probably 18 in canada. They're all rated R because all the stuff that makes them good don't fit PG-13 ;)

Do they not let anyone under age in?

just buy a ticket for a different movie and go in the other theater. you cant do this with extremely popular R movies because they usually check the people entering the theater.

lol I've been to many movies when they first screened in Vancouver, like dodgeball, anchorman, etc.
All seats were full but no one checked our tickets, there's this one time the fire alarm went off, lol turns out some idiot pulled the fire alarm and ran off.

Do you have some kind of fetish for hills? :stick:

Here very few movies get rated R, usually they are rated -12, meaning kids under 12 cannot watch it, some with a lot of sexual content or really gory get rated -16, and then you get the regular X-rated that are -18 here.

In DK the highest rating any movies get is "15" which means you need to be 15 to go see it. I've seend only one "18" in the cinemas, but nobody cares anyway.

On a side note, dont waste your time with The Hills Have Eyes. Theres no point to it at all, and very little imagination to it. The intro sequence is vaguely promising, and thats it.

Poor.

All the good films are "R" coz R means Recommended really :p:

One of my friends is 15 years old and she's never been bothered when she's come to movies with me, no matter the rating. Maybe you need to find a better theater.

but thats different, if a kid is accompanied by an adult, i think they can see an r rated movie. anyways, the theaters around me never minded, i saw blair witch 2 when i was 12.

but in canada the ratings are more lax. a movie can have alot more swearing/violence/nudity/drugs and still be 14A.

and dude, if the people cant buy the tickets themselves, get someone else to do it. i went to the movie a while back and they werent 18 so they couldnt buy their own tickets. so i just bought them all and gave them to them.

from my experience it depends on the guy selling the tickets, for example i saw some 18 films when i was 15 and they didnt care, but some guys would ask for ID = me stuffed, but the reason they do it (over here at least) is that the cinema can get fined if they let underage people in so some dont take that risk as the police do send a few underage kids in to see if they can buy tickets, same with alcohol and that

oh yeah and i'm pretty sure if you knowingly buy a ticket for a minor you can get fined too, again same with alcohol. at the end of the day i suppose the ratings are there for a reason but some just see this as another step toward a nanny state

Move to a proper country ;)
here in Denmark, as perry said, we have nicer rules. All teh ratings are recomendations. Anyine can watch anything if they want.
The other solution that springs to mind is to grow older :D

ratings are recomendations here, well at least the cinemas that i go to, but unfortuantly you have to be with an Adult to see R films if your under 17.

No one cares at the famous players near here. Although, considering my girlfriend's sister is the manager there, that might help a bit :p: But yea, another vote for the "buy one ticket, see a different movie" method.

What you need to do is find a Hobo, pay him $20 to buy the tickets for you.. :D
