There is a reason taht the 356 and the Beatle share an uncanny resemblence in their suspension members.

without germany there wouldn't be a car industry ;) .

anyway, to come to the idea that hitler has desgined a vw :slapass: . hitler even wasn't german by the way ...

@OmegaMerc

actually a golf is pretty save. it is as save as a bmw 3 serie sedan and the new generation has some kick ass technolgy inside. there ist a reason why a golf can drive at higher speed in turnings then a ford mustang for example ...

hm, acutally the käfer is what in usa would be the ford model t. that's all about it. it would have come with or without hitler ...

hm, at least the awd from audi is missing in vw's. mean, in german i could explain the differnece between quattro and 4motion, but in english --> no chance. but the engine is really nice. other exhaust system with a metal based cat and a new programed ecu and the car has nearlly 300bhp ;) , even though it won't get that much power on the road without 4motion (*as much i know not avaible for the gti*).

It was commisioned by the fuhrer for the people.

not realy. it was suported by him, but not commisioned. as i said already, it has not to do that much with hitler. it would have even came out without him. it was just a car for mobilsing the pure folk, like ford model T in usa oder citreon 2cv in france.

sure you need quattro, when you want to drive fast ... or at least a rear wheel drive ...
