I recently had 2x256 bh-5 in my system but needed more memory so I bought some patriot memory that was on sale (a 1GB (2x512) kit)...it turned out to be TCCD :-D. However...I cannot get the system to post with both sticks of TCCD installed. I get long beeps with 3 LED's on (indicating the system is having problems detecting the RAM). I can however get the system to boot as long as only one of the sticks of TCCD is in either the first or second DIMM (as in the two DIMMS farthest from the CPU). Trying to boot with one of the sticks in slots 3 or 4 (closest to the CPU) results in no post. Here are some of my results...

DIMM 1: 1x512mb TCCD

As you can see...getting the system will not post with both sticks installed in any combination. It will not post if a stick is installed only in DIMMs 3 or 4. I can only get it to post if only one stick is installed and in DIMM 1 or 2. Both sticks work individually by the way.

Here's what I've tried to fix the issue:
Bios 11/14/05
Bios 3/29/06
Many different timing combinations (such as tcl-trp-trcd-tras tref and drive strength)
Clear CMOS several times

Both sticks pass memtest.

I think I may have found the problem. On one stick, the default SPD timings are 3-3-3-8 1T where as the other is 2-3-2-5 1T. However, if I set the timings manually it still doesn't post...I'm going to try 510-1fix right now.

No bios is going to change that, with the DFI boards the CAS latency in the SPD must match for the board to boot/see both sticks.

So...what now? Call Patriot and ask why they gave me a dual channel kit with sticks with totally different SPD settings :stick: ?

There's a program that you can use to re-program your SPD's, but I don't know what it is off hand. You'll have to bother OPB or Ozzimark to figure out what it is. Worse comes to worse though, I'd complain to PDP.

I'm in the process of copying the spd from the good stick to the bad one right now...hopefully all will go well :)

Success! Reprogrammed the SPD and everything is working fine now...both sticks in the orange slots. Thanks RyderOCZ for guiding me in the right direction ;).

Now to call Patriot in the morning and complain...
