I cannot find out how to get rid of this. I just got 3D Studio Max 8, and ever time I try to zoom in I have to click something when there is a BITMAP backgroun. Dose anyone know how to get rid of this?

Yea that happens when you have a bitmap as a background and you try to zoom in way to far, it is just warning you that it is taking up that memory. I am not sure if you can get rid of it, but you will notice some lag, depending on what your system is. How do you have your bitmap setup in the viewport?

Yea that is plently, it is just warning you that you are going to be using that memory because you are zooming in, if it runs fine just click yes.

It's annoying, I have to do that each time I zoom in :(

Gotta be a way of disabling. I'll look around.

yes, figuring out how to turn this off would be much appreciated, it does it with 3ds max 7 too. although i was under the impression that the image is being held within the video ram... but i could be wrong. it mainly happens with when you have a high-res reference image set in your viewport, never reports it with any low-res ones.

I don't know if you would consider this hi-res, but:

Yea it all depends on how far you are zooming in too
