Join the XtremeSystems 3Dmark Team

Here’s all there is to it.
Bench your Graphics card to it’s Max :D
Once you bench with 3Dmark 2001 you need to publish your score at the Orb. Put in your user name and Xtremesystems.org after your name like so.

That’s it J
Of coarse the goal here is to get the highest scores we can get up at the Orb. We can discuss tweaks, v-mods and all the good stuff that gives us the highest scores we can achieve.

I was trying to run a crappy psu and it started smoking and wires started melting... The thing had no overvoltage/current protection.

Rivatuner uses coolbits for overclocking.

You can also set a host of other display variables using it. The most important, of course, are LOD bias, antialiasing, and prerendering limit. Play with those.

Those temps are idle. Full load temps are about 5c-15c depending on the outside temp ;)

The day to day rig would be the one you would use for Folding or Seti or Both. We have threads set up with all the info you will need to join. If you need anything pm me.

For GF3 try 22.80, 27.42 or 23.11 or some 29.xx drivers.

I agree! The 27.70 gave me a huge gain in performance, both in games and 3D M2001se. I also heard great things about the 29.40's. Might give them a try!

You won't see me on the front page w/ the Ti4600's...but I think I can hang around in the top of the Ti4200 class.

No major accomplishment...but there are over 2000 Ti4200's on there...and being 8th so far is not so bad.
I'm currently working on some OS tweaks(thx MrIcee). Should pick up a few points there.

New 4200 coming within the next week or two also...this thing don't oc for chit ;)

I've been benching all morning but failed to improve my score :(
Main reason was being stuck at 185x17 and the card at 378/800

Still, it had the juice to get me about 50 pts higher but something messed up every run... typical :D

Monday night I stayed up until 4am benching. I only improved my score by 100 points, and still couldn't quite move past JC's score to move up in the rankings. To go much higher I need to switch back to my P4T-E and build a turbo pll. I've improved my video card performance to the point where I can exceed 400mhz core for most benchmarks and I get very few artifacts at 393/783. Much more stable than it was. I bumped my vcore to 1.95v and improved my vid card cooling another 5C. 1.95v makes me a bit nervous, so I drop back to 1.8v when I'm not benching.

1.95V is not too high if you have good cooling. I believe both OPP and Macci run at 2V. I used to run up to 1.96V with water and 156W pelt.

I'm using an 80 watt pelt and water. I use a pelt controller so I set the cold plate temp to about +7C when I'm not benching. I'm still using plain water chilled to just barely above 0C when benching. I've got excellent neoprene insulation on the front and back of the video card and haven't had any condensation problems with extended benching sesstions with my cold plate running -23C and lower. I haven't insulated my tubing and water block, so I do get condensation on them.

My video card isn't limiting me right now, so I probably won't push it much harder until I improve my processor/motherboard performance.

As you know..I don't yet use a pelt on my vid card...so I guess that limits my GPU overclock...but at 1.99VGPU and using -25c water(average) I can push 384Mhz. I'm currently running 2.96v on the memory and it will bench solidly at 778 w/ no artifacts and 381 with a touch.

My Gainward does 381 on 2°C water and a 172W pelt @ 14V.
This is at default voltage. With a vmod I could get this sucker past the 400 mark i'm sure but i still havent gotten round to it yet.... seems to take forever. But I guess I gotto mod it before the NV30 gets here... lol

oh, and on the memory side, I left the standard heatsinks on and I do 810 in nature (heavy artifacting) and 796 in the other tests (medium artifacting). I can do 820 as well with incredible artifacts (:D) but by then my frames start to drop rather than go up ;)

Bench so far done with very little tweaking, FSB thrown up to 200, multiplier dropped to 9, voltage at 2v CPU, +0.5v Ram.
Memory Timings on Epox's "fastest" default (flakes at turbo), AGP at full speed, 4x with FW on, 128Mb Aperture. Radeon overclocked and vmodded with pencil trick. fastest so far at 298mhz core and mem, but need to repencil as most has worn off from repeated removal of card, so suspect will get 30 out of both. Using Omega/Plutonium Drivers from rage3d.com.

Er... any help to get past 10k would be ACE!! Preferably without water at the moment as waiting for the right bits and they may take a while... (apologies for the length)

If u use slower mem setting even w the FSB higher, u may get worst score's than w Fastest settings w lower fsb

the ram just doesn't cope with turbo settings without heatspreaders on... so have to stick with next option down which runs at Cas2, 4bank, 3-6-3 (as opposed to turbo's 2-5-2) until I lay my hands on something more effective than thermaltake spreaders... got my eyes on some low profile 1U copper heatsinks and a few other bits to strap on to em... the fsb will go upto 210 quite happily without having to drop the memory down...

Hey guys, what kind of speeds are you all running your Ti4600s at, and with what voltages? I have the MSI GF2Ti. I can get the mem to about 460 (ultra speed) and textures in games will get colored spots on them. The core goes to about 275. If I may, I'd like to become a member of the xtreme team. For the longest time I was at top in the Gamershq 3DMark Team.

I am really too lazy to read this whole thread, but the first page some one asked about coolbits and was told to use rivatuner instead.
A little tip:

I use both. I use rivatuner for the tweaks like LOD bias and vsync and so on and so forth. Here is the problem with riva for OCing. You cannot get precise overclocks. Have you ever noticed that riva tuner will jump in OCing increments. You may be able to run the core at 335.7 with riva, but then you try to go that next step and instead of getting 336.7 you get the same 335.7 OR it will jump to 340.2 or something like that. With coolbits you can grab each MHz as you like.
I thought my Ti4600 was maxed at 341 or something like that until I decided to use coolbits along with riva and got 347 for the core.

In regards to Rivatuner...it has 2 overclocking utilities within in it. At the top of its front page you can choose the low level overclocking control..which does as you explained..it jumps all over and is not precise.

Under that menu is another drop down menu, of course, where all the tweaks reside, which is the second choice in that row. If you click the first choice it is a hardware level overclocking utility that function just as coolbits does. When you enable it it detects the card clocks either immediately or after a reboot. Once enabled..you may choose your clocks in precise 1Mhz increments.:)

I have the latest from guru3d. I just gave it another shot and here is what I get.

Riva detects my card at 300.4/648.9.
I set the core to 301 and riva clocks it to 301.5.....I tried to go to 302 and it is not even an option as the next selection is 303 which sets my card to 304.1. Now what am I doing wrong. I get the same results with low level and hardware (driver).

I will set the core to 303 with riva tuner (I uninstalled riva and reinstalled it for the hell of it and still no 302 option) and it will clock it at 303.8 and then I set it to 304 and test and apply and it clocks it at 303.8.....whatever. So I then try 305 and it will clock it to 303.8......huh? So I then try 306 and it clocks it at 308.3.........bah!!! This happens with both low level and hardware. I am currently using the 29.42 official Dets, but this happens with all of them as I recall and I have tried them all.

With winter just around the corner, I've decided to build a brand spankin' new system. My Pentium 4 system aka "Monster" main specs:

CPU: Pentium 2.4b or 2.53. This is the last hardware component I need. Help me decide.

MOBO: Asus P4B533-E

VGA: MSI GF4 Ti 4600-VTD, the newer version which has a purple pcb instead of the green. I oc'ed the card on a friend's computer to 336/750 with stock cooling.

RAM: Corsair XMS PC3200 Cas 2 256mb

HDD: Maxtor 40GB ATA 133

OS: Windows XP Prof

PSU: Antec 400 watt

With this setup, I think 15,000 should be obtainable on air.

Ok...I am less than 100 points away from 15K with no refrigeration. Perhaps someone on the 3d team will share a tweak or two that I have not found that will get me there (I built my first computer less than a year ago, so I am on an accelerated learning curve here.)

Q'1 I will be purchasing a new Proc. and MB, hopefully my scores will be more respectable then...but this is not bad for a (US Dollars) $55.00 processor and $90.00 Motherboard and, oh yea, a $350.00 video card.

i will join the 3d team once i get at least 9.5k, that is my personal goal. i will shortly be getting some xtremeddr ddr400 true, and an epox 4g4a, so i can oc this proc much more. i wanna hit 150 fsb (3 ghz), but that will probably be unlikely, i have only seen these chips make it to 2.8 - 2.9 on air. i think i have a damn good oc on the vid card though, maybe i can squeeze 5 or 10 more out of the core.

Hi guys
I would like to join this fine team to :).
Just did some first "serious" benching earlier today. Ended up at 15350 with my crappy ti4400@330/660. Not much tweaking and a pretty messed up OS. Also the CPU was far from maxed out cause of my crappy RAM. Thought I should crack 15500 tonight but my card decided to die on me just a couple hours ago. Was surfing the web and suddenly the screen got blank... and thats it. Ah well the card was very old and the memory on it was plain crap so Im not crying about it;).
Got some nice corsair memory and a abit ti4200 on its way so Im kinda hoping for 16k with that ;).

Hi guys this is my second post but what the heck :D can i join the team ?
I got 12203 3d marks with an 2200+ and a Asus V8420 DT 512 mb ram Samsung original DTL and an MSI KT3 ultra 2
My xp 2200+ is at the shop because i burned it, but there will be a new one in 1 or 2 days (maybe a 2400+)
