AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That's sweet!!! :D

is that stock or modded bios?

Tony
04-11-2006, 10:49 AM
Came from Oskar like that, only issue was the bios was so tight it hated anything Infineon...no worries though ;) i have a modded version off to DFI USA and they are testing to see if they can release it. If they give the go ahead I will leak it here ready for your new boards. The stock bios on the boards is not to hot and should be flashed ASAP.

Holy Funk, thats Awesome...

all the way down to 2.06 volts too.
Be nice to see what my low voltage loving Corsair LL Pro 3500's do.
2.5-3-2-1-1T at 254 and 100% stable at 2.2 volts... when this ram seems to only get better the lower the voltage goes... I've been dying to see what it could do with even lower voltage :D

Cool.

Crossfires looking better everyday.
especially with the Chuck Patch on Oblivion.

I have a board here(eXpert) that runs ddr500 CE5 at 2.34V, switch to my second eXpert same cpu etc and i need 2.64V, so it may not clock low with voltage on all boards...just something to watch for ;)

Have DFI released one of your Bios' as official before? That's quite an honour :)

unfortunately no, but they do appreciate what i do with the files and i have never had any issues from them for trying to help get the boards more friendly.

Oskar actually told me to losen this one up and post it,LOL but i thought it best to run it by DFI USA first ;)

:D is Oskar designing the Yonah board?

They are not doing yonah as far as I know, there will be a 975 board but when i have no idea

Yes there will be a 945 yonah, but the 945 have a OC lock so it's quite useless for overclocking.

But nice Vdimm control :) It'll take some time to scroll down :p:

It would be fun to put meter on it a see if the bios can really regulate .01 steps... That's hard to imagine...

I'm guessing Tony already tested that... if it didn't I'm sure he wouldn't post about it and would jus remove the options from the bios..

Tony does this work for all the DFI boards Expert in particular? ( obviously I know the Expert doesn't have that many options but I mean does it work the same way?)
I have a strange situation in that I've had a SLI-D and now an Expert and neither have been picky with the OCZ Rev2 TCCD or my G Skill HZ (sorry for swearing)
I have been able to run and various Drive and Data strength without issues, could this be that I'm not pushing it enough or am I very lucky?

Also same for T Ref values I can use about half of them with out any problems, currently running my Opteron @280x10 passes prime for 12+hours at various settings but if I go for 285X10 all hell brakes loose nothing I try makes it stable.

Sorry for crashing this thread but I've never seen any reference to drive strengths before.

Holy crap that's a massive list of vDimm. I think it would certainly benefit from keyed-entry (much like how FSB is entered in manually in current DFI bioses).

Thanks for the guide on Drive Strengths Tony :)

Vdimm in such small increments only makes sense if the votages are dead-on.

Is they are, thats board must be the 939 MOTHER-LORD!

This is for CFX3200 only, eXpert has 1 to 15 with 9 to 15 being for 4 dimms 2T and 4 dmms 1T at the highest value.

If the voltage options do change the vdimm slightly on each step then it suits me just fine, dead on is no issue to me as long as each option is close thats all i need.

i'm not well versed in how exactly the drive strength is set with the K8's memory controller, but instead of having high drive strength to seeming infinity, wouldn't it be wiser to have around the same range the expert/venus have, but in smaller steps? :toast:

Ignoring the capacity (256MB, 512MB, 1GB DIMMS, whatever), which type of ICs would be the best suited ones for this board?

1. BH/CH-5
2. TCCD
3. Micron
4. Infineon
5. Hynix
6. UCCD

etc..

As if I wasn't having enough problems with 4 and 8 levels of drive strength...

The things these programmers come up with. Someone's gotta tell them to create a program that OCs your computer to the maximum stable OC in 48 hours. Now thats something for us lazy people who don't want to tweak 999 settings..

But what am I saying. I am an overclocker..

Since my 4400 can't do more than 2.76 Ghz anyway I just ordered the Abit AT8 32X. It's got passive cooling and plenty of vcore and vdimm. I use the G skill in my sig so I don't need a lot of vdimm in the first place.

I'll be able to use my PCI-e tuner card in the top slot and a sound card in the bottom. It will be tight and I know some folks that have made 'em fit.

I am sure the DFI will be a better board for extreme overclocking and the AT8 32X should suit my "mid high" needs. I need to reinstall windows very soon, and I was tired of the "next week" thing that has been going on for some time, so I went with this option. Not to mention the Abit RD580 board is only about five dollars or so more than the old DFI RD 480 board.

No i had to flash to the bios I posted, make sure if you are using Infineon you boot with 1 dimm and flash the bios, once setup defaults are loaded all is good.

Remember also i set 2t by default in the bios so you will need to put this back at auto or enabled.
