you cant do pinmods and there isnt even a bios to make changes to.
clockgen is your only hope, and it only runs in xp, so you have to use bootcamp and i dont know if that will block such low-level changes
Does anyone know how to do it?
is this the new intel mini? I know you could overclock the older one by moving a resistor.

The datasheet clearly shows that the Core CPUs use BSEL encoding for BCLK frequency, so a simple wire in the socket mod should do the trick.
133 (533) and 166 (667) are clearly marked, with two other options set as "RESERVED". 10 to 1 the two reserved are 200 (800) and 266 (1066) frequencies.
I have been waiting for someone with a mini to try this, anyone here gonna be man enough to? :stick:

I think I will wait a bit for someone to do it before trying it myself. :) Getting 1.66Mhz to 2.2Ghz would be a nice perk.

If it is just a pin thing then surely all we'd need to do is compare the bottom of a 2.16 Ghz Core Duo chip to a 1.66 Ghz Core Duo chip or am I barking up the wrong tree entirely?? Anyone that's upgraded their machine could probably work this out for us??

Physically they should be the same, just the pin which the signal is diverted to should be different.
edit - similair to d1 1.6 xeons, where changing FSB value would boost you from 1600mhz to 3200mhz :) Good days until the pc-dl fried.

But your also gonna need to do a volt mod. Its simular to the 400FSB Dothans. People were taking 1.6,1.7 and even 1.8's and getting nice O/Cs out of them.

You want to start to read at section 3.2, but 3.6 deals with BSEL. Processor Pin-Out and Pin List is section 4.2.

Any way to change mem divider? I may try this, but I don't think notebook memory could do ddr2-800...
