Hey!

I'm planning to order a new computer next week. I would be thankful for any advices considering the hardware configuration :) The computer should be silent and well overclockable. Budget ~1500-1600€.

That's what I'm planning to buy:

Pentium D 920 + TT Sonic Tower + 120mm FAN
ASUS P5WD2-E Premium
2GB G.Skill PC2-6400
X1800XT 512MB + Zalman VF-900
Enermay Liberty 500W
CM Stacker 830
5 extra 120mm FANs (Yate Loon)
BenQ DW-1650
Samsung SP120 250GB

What do ya think?

First of all are you set on intel? I would spend the extra $60 and get the X2 3800. Second, How about some OCZ 2gb PC2-8000 instead of the G.Skill? and finally I would change that Liberty 500w to an OCZ 600w Powerstream or liberty 620w.

I'm set on Intel because I hope that I can run Conroe on the 975X Mainboard. Otherwise I only need to change the Mainboard too and can stick to the RAM. 2GB PC2-8000 memory is nice to have but extremly expensive. ~500€ against 260€ for the G.Skill. Do you think that the 500W of the Liberty are insufficient?

If I were you I would change out the 500W especially if you are thing about going conroe. Plus you have a X1800 there with 2gigs of memory? I would go with the powerstream or the upgraded Liberty if I were you.

After reading some PSU reviews I guess I'll go with a Seasonic PSU. But what's up with my configuration. Do you think it will perform well?
