Ok I just got my logitech mx 4000 (like g7) mouse. I plug it in and it starts to go. I am pumped at this point. Then I see my CPU usage just skyrockets to over 50% just by moving the mouse. Is this normal for a logitech mx 4000 to do this? I have tryed it with out drivers and with drivers. The probelm prestits.

That is not normal at all for that mouse. I don't know of any specific issues that would cause this. You may want to try that mouse on another computer and see if it's a bad mouse or some wierd USB issue on that PC.

Try unistalling and reinstalling the set point drivers. Also a new version of the driver is out here http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/US/EN,CRID=1792,contentid=11013

Do you have a moue movement tracker on your comp? like i have a sig thing on another forum that tracks the "mileage" I move my mouse, but it shouldn't eat that many resources.

Spyware, or a behind the scenes monitoring program?

It didn't do it before, or you just didn't notice it?
