Hello, I have been reading the posts here but I haven't found what I need.
I finally got my 2GBHZ set but I can't get them setup right I guess.
I did set them to 3,4,4,10 but there are still a ton of settings I don't understand.
I've seen you put up suggested timings but none related to my board.
Would it help if I posted a screen from A64 tweaker?

Hi Kbtat2,
I also use the Neo2 Platinum but have a Sandiego 3700. The bios i use is 180NFM(Rev.3)1T a modified bios to force 1T as i have found this to be more stable than any from 1.9 upwards. Here is a list of timing changes which were made in the bios:
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
BIOS Rev.3

- Based on v1.8F BIOS

*** This is a special San Diego Edition, therefore 1T Command Rate always will be enabled.
Use it only if you have a San Diego processor.

Changelog Rev.1:

- Fixed divider issue, trc = 12 clks & trfc = 18 clks on all dividers
- Read Write Queue Bypass = 16x
- Bypass Max = 7x
- Idle Cycle Limit = 256 clks
- Max Async Latency = 8ns

Changelog Rev.2:

- All hidden options are now available

Changelog Rev.3:

- trrd = 3 clks
- twr = 2 clks
- trwt = 2 clks (trtw in A64 Tweaker)

The above settings will be always applied by default. Make sure you test these settings
with "A64 Tweaker" before flashing this BIOS.

I don't know if opteron will run on this bios although they have the same core only slightly better for overclocking.I have my memory set at 2.6volts in bios and drive strenghth set to weak with standard 3.4.4.8 timings at 270x10 1T
1:1 no divider. I have also taken a screenshot of A64 Tweaker so you can compare.

Don't know if any of this info will help you in any way but good luck and happy overclocking.:cool:

Heamothorax UK, I used your settings and got the fastest 32m super pi yet.
Thanks!! Now I wish I could get a 1c3 bios with those settings already there.

Hi Kbtat2,
Glad to be of help but all the credit goes to need.for.mhz [NFM] for
his hard work in producing such a fine bios.Try asking Sideeffect nicely if he could make you a 1C3 bios with those timings already enabled as he is another talented individual who writes good bioses.
I wonder how G.S Technician is getting on with the Neo2,looking forward to hearing from him as his results should be interesting.

muskin ce6- 2GB will do with neo 2. 2-3-2-5@ddr400 2.5-3-2-8@ddr500 1T or more with low volts.

I want a set to play with 3-4-4-8@ 280x10 (gskill:) )

Hi HeamothoraxUK,

I wanted to know if you know where I can find the BIOS you are using 180NFM(Rev.3). I to have the Neo2 Platinum w/ 3700SD, and I find that I can't get my fsb over 255. So I'm hoping they might help.

Thanks
Shawn

For some reason that site is not showing anything to download.

Didn't they pull the BIOS file?

G.S Technician

I have this MSI NEO2 MB. I've been messing around with my CPU and 2GBHZ set, and this is what I see.

FSB 250 X 11= 2750mhz, HT= 4
RAM Divider at 166 = 200mhz with the FSB of 250
This will boot, and run great, but if I use A64 and set my RAM back to 200mhz so that I'm running at 500mhz I will get errors in Prime95 within a minute. I take it that my RAM will not handle the DDR500 for some reason. Maybe this is a MB or CPU problem. I'm not sure, and don't really have the means to test them in another system. What do you think? Is it my RAM or could it be the CPU (3700+ SD) or my MB?
I know from what I've been reading that this MB like BH5, Ballistix, or tccd memory, and I guess the 2GBHZ are UCCC memory. Thinking I should ebay this ram and go with something else.

Let me know what you think. (anyone)

Thanks
Shawn

Just tried this:

FSB 250 X 9, RAM set at 166 so that my CPU would stay at stock speed, but my RAM would be 200. Then I used A64 tweaker to bring my ram back to 200 (1:1), and the computer restart once I hit set. So that tells me it must be my RAM. Should I RAM it? (2 months old)

Thanks
Shawn

Try a different bios and try manually settings timings

cas = 3
trc = 8
trfc = 14
ras to cas = 4
ras to ras = 3
min ras (tras) = 8
row precharge (trp) = 4
trtw = 3

make sure you have drive strength on weak. voltage = 2.5-2.65v

those settings get me stable @ 250, but not much more. think i may be board limited, but atleast they do 250 ..

Well I'm having better luck with the RAM. I changed my timming from 3.4.4.8 to 3.5.5.10 and I lowered my voltage to 1.50. I'll report back as to what my final settings are.

So I tried running my RAM 1:1 and I can run stable at FSB of 240, but sometimes the computer won't boot. I turn power off then back on and it works. So I think thats just a MSI/BIOS thing. I think I will stay with my BIOS RAM setting at 166 with FSB at 250, and adjust the RAM in A64 Tweaker.

What BIOS are you using to get 1T with Toledo X2 (mentioned in your sig)?

I'm using 1C3 with 3800+ without much luck.

Thanks
