Since I finally got my DFI expert running now its time to oc my Opty 165 (0546). What I was wondering is since I cant install the watercooling until this weekend i thought id burn in the cpu a bit. But I dont know which apps to run to do this. If anyone could give me some tips on what to do I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

Yup I got some good result doin' that w/ my "mobile" Slow goin' w/ the "oppie" though. I was able to get the mobile to pass prime @lower volt's than before. W/the oppie it seem's like slow work though. Good-luck "Clay"

prime95

erm no!

Dual BURNK7, with affinities set and high priority

anyone who's used it will agree that it stresses the cpu far more than sp2004/prime etc

S&M if you really wanna see some high temps. Can also be used as a fairly good stress testor too;)

Xstress seems to really raise the temps on mine it's in the software section of XS. I havent really compared to any others yet though but it certainly brought my temps higher than I've seen on my CPU before.

I would use Prime95 for burn in. Find the lowest stable voltage at stock speed and prime it. The 5 minutes stable burn in has never worked for me.

yes it will but clearly it doesn't stress the cpu as much as BURNK7 or S&M so work it out..

Prime works fine....You just have to run for extended period min 9-24 hrs....

S&M gets the temps a bit higher then any version of prime... we're talking about 3-4°C for sure...

And CPUburnK7 gets a bit higher temps than S&M for me.

Out of all the programs I've used SnM creates the most heat.
