Thought I would share with you guys. Got it about 3 weeks ago and just now got around to getting some pictures.

2006 Acura TL in silver, 5-speed automatic, Navigation system with voice commands/controls for navigation, climate control, handsfree link (Bluetooth connection to my Moto RAZR!), CD/DVD-A/DTS 5.1 player...etc....very cool, A-spec body package. Only thing done to the car is 35% tint on all side windows and back window.

Do you like?? :D

Nice car FCG! I just picked up a new car myself about 2 months ago. :D Rims are incoming as is air, exhaust and a PPC to remap the computer for ~350HP (300HP stock). Love the silver man!

Very sharp car, love the body kit, goes perfect with it.

Like the rims, dont worry about what others say, they're just obsessed with 20" bling bling :D

Painting those brake calipers would be a nice touch.

TL is a great car, my brother-in-law has one and it's a great car with I believe one of the most advanced Naviagtion systems available (i.e. voice integration, etc). Add on that great value and reliability and you have got a good investment as far as autos go. Only problem I have with the TL is front-wheel drive. :( And I've driven the six speed with LSD and it torque steers horribly. The A-Spec kit is tits. :D

Well the reason I chose my G35 over the TL was because the G35 looks better, its faster, and its a skyline. BUT I really like the TL, that was my second choice car next to the Evo, but the Evo is to sporty.

But that is a very nice car man! I love the back of those Tl's,

Skyline? if it was a skyline wouldnt it be called a skyline? If it is a skyline then why is nissan coming out with a GT-R in 2007? It looks somewhat similar but im sure its a whole lot more performance oriented with twin turbos.

G35 is basically a heavier and more luxurious version of the 350z.

It was planned, because some frenchie decided it was a good idea to make the R35 as a G35. They scrapped that idea later.

In Japan they are skylines... For those that didnt know:

http://www.nissan.co.jp/EN/lineup.html

Click on Skyline Coupe.

They jsut released it here under the Infiniti name because they could sell it for more this way. And the Nissan 350z is very similar to it, all the engine and frame of it are the same, I know this because we work on G35's and 350z's at our Auto Shop all the time.

FWIW the G35 interior sucks.. Outside is great, and it has a nice engine (although its not very effecient), but the interior styling and build quality leaves something to be desired.

Ever heard of the Honda Accord? seems to have an uncanny resemblence to the TL. I'm guessing the TL is the American version of the Accord as I know Acura is a subsidary of Honda :)

anyway, japan quailiy isn't to what it was few years before. nissan has for exemple major problemes with quaility in europe. for germany there is even a extra shift quaility because german don'T buy anymore as much nissan as they used to buy few years ago (*quailiy problemes are the reason why they don't buy them anymore*). considering the fact, that you work at the quailiy control at mercedes you should have noticed that the last year the quaily improved again. thats the reason why there is a new e-class for example (*even though it doesn'T look that much different, it almost a new car*).

in germany you can acutally buy a accord for about 36k $. but thats not the point anyway. it actually a honda legend (*still not avaible in europe*). a piece of nice technolgy, but the engine doesn't fit to good to the car. anyway, that should be a big problem in usa, because you actually will not drive at high top speeds as we do in germany ...

ps. does that car realy cost only 36k $ in usa? i mean, here the legend will coast around 45k € (*about 50k $*):

like the new M-class. the original had an obsene number of problems :(. The new one however is completely redesigned. although it looks similar everything is of a much higher quality and customers can tell.

there is a 1 year wait for all european orders.:) (yes the backlog is that large). Too bad the r-class wasnt a hit like expected

sorry, but i acutally don't know somethink when it comes to suv's because i dislike them. i don't see a point in buying somethink like that (*only a waste of mony, needs to much gas and does nopt drive good*). but mercedes have again a pretty high quaility standert.

i'm one, of not many people in europe who has driven a new honda legend. it is not that a big deal. it drives good, but you don't get a good feeling withit. it just way to synthetic with that car and the engine settings are not that good. thats the reason way they halt it back in europe. they optimize it still vor the local market.

ps. europe customers have a different viewpoint on cars, specially here in germany. in usa people drove many years cars with a soft setting, wich don't give a real feedback from the road. that the whole think about it. actaully you can drive faster around the track with an old a6 2.5l tdi quattro ...

The G35 interior is awesome, but I agree, some parts of it are made kidn of... weak. But it looks awesome.

And I work/worked on auto repair and if you want reliability... Toyota(scion, lexus), Honda(acura), and Nissan are the best, they have the least amount of issues, when they get in an accident you dont have 2,000 little things break (*cough* mercedes *cough*) and if there is one car I hate working on, its a VW, they are built like :banana::banana::banana:, sorry but they are. :(

What is weird, is that the R34's cost $120,000 US, and now the R35/G35 they've dropped the price, as well as the overall aspects of the car.

I've heard they're jumping back to their older skyline (R34) ideas, and going for that racing design again.

no, i haven't. it would have helped stating the difference in your last statement. no need to get worked up. i may not know the difference, but sheesh....i wasn't dissing your ride

They look pretty simmilar, but i havent a clue performance-wise...

we dont have the acura brand in the uk, but the top of the range accord (2.4 l VTEC) retails at £20.5k = ~$36k.

some performance figures, interior shots would help :)

sorry, if i seemed offensive in the last post, i was just looking for some stats :). chill.

ehm, thought we were talking about that, waht gets called in usa acura tl and in the rest of the world honda legend. but anyway, a ml isn't that good for driving on a track. the think is, power is nothing without control ...

KITT. In the USA Honda is the economy line (for the most part) and Acura is the luxury line.

The highest end accord in the USA is a 245HP 3Litre V6. The 2 Litre I-4 is the lower end model.

You can get the low end model for about $25K and a brand new V6 with navi costs around 28-30k depending on how much u want to bargain.

The Acura TL uses the same chassis as the accord but with a supped up engine (270HP), much improved interior and lots of chassis tweaks.

zabomb4163, 5 second 0-62 with 510 HP is horrible... absoluytley horrible. With 510hp the car should be getting in the mid to low 4 second range. A modded porsche boxster with 410hp can do 0-60 in 4.5seconds... so a car with 510 should be able to do atleast that. Of course the ML63 is a big old ugly SUV, so 5 seconds isnt too bad.

and as amduser said, power is nothing without control. A 5000 pound SUV will NOT handle well.. period. The best handling SUV would be either the X5 or the Cayaene, and even still, they cannot hold a candle to even a lowly car such as my Hoda civic.

Very nice class of cars... very competitive too.

TL is a great car and FCG has an exceptional one. The G35 is in need of an update, and the interior is fairly cheap and uninspired. However the Nissan 3.5l V6 is the CLASS of the division... just a powerhouse! The Honda V6 is probably smoother and more refined.

The AZZ-KIKKINEST sports compact out there right now is the $60K Audi RS4... it's 100% BEAST.

btw, I see they fixed the gas pedal. Moved away from the annoying Accord pedal and used one like the 06' Civic has. Much nicer on the foot. Sports cars have been using it for years and they just no realized the bottom hinge was a good idea.. sheesh.

Charlie, the RS4 is a different class of car... totaly different class. Twice the engine, twice the price :D
