hi there, first off sorry if this has been covered before - i did search but search just gives me a white screen for some reason

anyway i remember seeing some tighter x850 memory timings somewhere and they seemed to give quite a boost, so i was wondering if anyone had a list of tighter memory timings for the x800 pro (samsung 2.0)

any help greatly appriciated

thanks

those timmings also work for x800pro with 2.0ns ram ;)

I use these on mine:

TRCDRD: 7
TRCDWR: 3
TRP: 5
TRAS: 13
TRRD: 3
TWR: 6
TR2W: CL+2
TW2R: 3
TR2R: USE TWR RULE
TR2R: 2
WR_LATENCY: 1.5
CAS_LATENCY: 7
CMD_LATENCY: 0
STR_LATENCY: WR LATENCY
REFRESH_RATE: 0x75
TRFC: 23

I run my memory tighter than XTs since its max frequency is in the 500s.

wow, these worked great, i gained about 300 points in 01, 200 in 03 and around 80 in 05, i did notice i lost about 15mhz on the max memory clock but its weird, it didnt artifact it just freezes and you have to reset, so i dunno maybe its just fastwrites or something

big thanks to eshbach for many hours of research!

you cant use the same timmings for every card.

as some cards have same speed memory, but different model.

i personally had infineon ram on my x700. so i looked up the specs sheet of it, and used that as a basic guide.

and then went and with ati tray tools, tightened each timing individually, and then ran the bench, and see if it increased or decreased perfomance, and if it was still stable, reduced it some more.

ended up going from around 8200, to shy of 8800 in '03. so thats quite the increase from ONLY differing vmem timings, of course that is with a very mem bottlenecked card, so ymmv.

I gained about 200 points in 3DMark05, no change in 24/7 or bench speeds.

Just popped these timings on my newly acquired x800pro @ 16 pipes, nice little boost, runs happily at 540/530 too :)

out of interest dave, did you mod round the lasercut? or just bios flash? or both? i'm pretty sure this one doesnt mod to 16 pipes but i might have missed something, also its a 0521 so quite a late chip, do you know what yours is? (the 4 numbers on the bottom of the fan)

I bought mine second hand and its always had 16 pipes, its not been modded :S

Where abouts is the date for the chip exactly? Mines an ASUS card with a heatpipe cooler so I'm not sure where to look.

ahh right, well it came out the factory with 12 pipes, so somewhere its got modded! anyway not to worry about the week, i just assumed it would be on stock cooler like mine, no need to look at the core or anything!

I can say only this that this timings dont work well with samsung 2.0ns ram (for me they don't) ...I have x800pro vivo 2ns samsung ram which works fine on 580gpu/545ram, but if i use this settings even at 500mem i get artifacts...

weird, work fine for me right upto 630, mine has 2.0ns samsung as well

I have tested only with 3dmark 01 but the artifacting is present...biggest problem is tearing structures.

Jamo..630 on 2ns ram...is this with voltmod or not?? What cooling?

630 is with voltmod (~2.2v) however it is good upto ~590 on stock volts, there is no cooling on the ram (yet) and i just had a 92mm fan pointed in its direction
