I think it will not die anytime soon because of cdroms still being used via that interface

I think it will die sooner or later but not for a while becuase people will use IDE cdrom dirves for a while. I use a mix right now but im trying to migrate entirely over to sata. My last thing that i need to move to sata is my dvdr/w drive.

i dont know, i mean sata optical drives can not load windows onto a HDD currently
