Hope to solve most of my traction problems with these.

On national backorder in the US, so I got them overnighted straight from Japan! :D

Now I have to wait until my wheels arrive to mount these bad boys. I'll have pics of those too :rocker:

overnight from japan... I can see it now.. couriour sitting on a 747 on the redeye flight with 4 tires sitting in the seat next to him.

98w and 102v... just make sure you dont go over 150mph or your tire might blow out or leak.

not those. look at the ratings. the W's are good for 150 and the V's for 165. Atleast according to the tire chart here in front of me.

Those are the tires I run and I have a backup set (purchased warranty for 24 per tire).

A++ Superb traction, handling and ride. Very nice ~ 165Mph+

By far the best tire for the asphalt. Ive run goodyear, comp t/a, yoko, toyo, pirelli, and M/T to name a few. The closest tire I found non drag was the Kelly Super Charger N15/50 and they dont fit F body too well. I had them on my 71 Chevelle SS and on my 68 Camaro RS, the Camaro needed coil over shock with ladder bars to support 12 bolt rear end. The car came with leaf springs stock. Kelly's at 15psi were unbeatable.

Nice to see your car in progress, I will skip to the 400HP camaro next and park the 96 WS6 with very low miles, new engine, tires, and brakes in the garage. I thought about the new GTO but the body is not up to snuff IMO, the interior is very nice though.

If I rattled off the parts list from the Camaro or Chevelle you guys would think I was fricken insane or making it all up.

I agree with that FUGGER, the interior of the GTO is awesome, it would make for a great driver. I thought about after I sat in an 06 but then I got out, looked at my WS6 and said...nah ;)

About the tires I won't be doing 150+ anytime soon, if ever. For my application they are going to be awesome tires I think. The rear tires are drag radials made of a softer compound yet have a tread pattern for street driving, cornering and wet traction. This means for my car they will outperform any normal street tire. Get them hot and sticky and you can hook like a drag tire. The Mickey Thompsons and the BFGs are a little better at this in regards to just straight hooking but suffer in wet traction and tread life. I looked at them but they may only last me 5000-8000 miles or so before needing to be replaced.

The front tires (555's) are where they got the tread pattern for the 555R (drag radial) from. I wanted a front tire that looked similar since I wasn't putting DR's there so I went with these. They should last ~3x longer than the rears. Since I am using drag radials, I wouldn't be rotating them out so it doesn't matter that I go with different sizes.
