I don't know why these two models of memory have the same rating at 2-3-2-5, but yet one is like $50 cheaper (ZX). Can someone tell me why? Is it because one OCs better than the other? Different memory chips? Thanks in advance...

I was looking for the same info as well. I currently have the ZX stuff, but after reading through the setup guide for running the ZX pair in the Abit AN8 32X motherboard, realized why I was having random crashes while playing BF2. The G-Skill Technician guy here tested it and only certified it to run at a 2T command rate on this board. The HX, however, is tested to run at 1T.
Don't know what the difference is, but I have a pair of the HX's coming on Monday to replace my ZX's.

Do you guys suppose the HZ can run at 200 with 2-3-2-5 timing as well? Or is the HZ made to run only 3-4-4-8 at only 250 or higher? At times I wonder if the higher rating memory can run at lower FSB with the same (tighter) timing as those that are made to run with lower FSB but with tighter timing.

Hmmm...it's always a trade off.

Chips @ G.Skill:

2GBZX: not specified, maybe Hynix, sometimes good one, sometimes not

2GBHX: Infineon, fast timings and good to OC

2GBHZ: Samsung UCCC, slow timings but good to OC

Well I believe that ZX overclocks rather good - have mine running at:

2x1GB G.SKILL F1-ZX @ 260mhz 3.3.3.5 1T
