found this at a retail shop in some little po-dunk town, had it listed @ 330$, and they had a student discount! so i snagged it, and im still in madison until tomorrow, but ill get it up and running tomorrow night, what can i expect from this guy? ill obviously post results once i know, but i head that 0601's were really good, so i pick er up :)

just booted into windows @ 1.35 (well, my board overvolts supposedly) so its really stock -.075, to = 1.36 or so, @ 2600Mhz (260x10 1:1), lets see how she does! :)

edit: Fails prime after 5 mins, time to up volts. im hoping this is a 2800Mhz 24/7 chip :)

Cool, let us know how it goes.

well its for sure a 24/7 2800Mhz chip, this is a damn good one :). 0601 TPDW (the D is rare i think, most others are M) anyways, its priming away @ 2800Mhz @ +.05 volts (over stock) still think its overvolting, but i had probs with it just reporting wrong on my old chip, so who knows)

is your cooling in your sig?

yep, done by the xp 120 and panaflow, wont do 2850 @ the same volts, but i bet i could eek out 3Ghz out of this chip, but right now, im gonna let the paste sit in @ 2800Mhz, and that will be my 24/7 :). this should last me until conroe's are cheap :)

also have a 7800gt eVGA co (470/1100) comin in this week to replace the turbo crap, finally some games again, maybe TES IV

It's doing 2.8 GHz @ 1.4V?

Good chip! But good luck hitting 3 ghz on air if it's not prime stable @ stock @ 2600 mhz.....

My chip has the same stepping 0601 TPDW :)

With air cooling ( Ninja Plus ) , it prime at 2.8Ghz 1.4v ok
Getting more speed i must use Water and get prime stable at 2.9Ghz 1.472v

Gut luck :toast:

well, i have weird mobo volt issues, set @ default +.05 (should be 1.45, no? or 1.4?) i can prime 2800Mhz just fine, but it READS as like 1.47, but it did this with my old chip as well, and when comparing with my old mobo, this one takes much higher volts (reported, not set) to = the same o/c's, so im wondering if it reads wrong. Anyways, i got my 3 year amd warranty, why not try 1.575 or so to see if i can get 3Ghz? ill bet ill at least get close, for benching perhaps :)

with Air Cooling , it can get 3.0Ghz easily :toast:
Take a look my result at post 138

3.1Ghz on water PI32M ok :D

primed it @ stock +.05 overnight 2800Mhz, runs just fine, actually, at same voltages, runs 2900 fine, but fails prime immediatly (can still run through 2k1, and about 20 mins of quake 4 as well, strange) KEEPER!

wtf that makes no sense, fails at 2.6 and passes 2.8????

found out when i had my board set @ default, it wasn't actually default, was morelike 1.15 or so. :). ANYWAYS, i ran thru an 06 bench @ 3Ghz @ 1.575, and it passed through, doubtful on prime stable tho, but i dont care bout that :)

Same thing I was thinking.

OP: Is it a code N chip?

nope, i got the last one, they had a 054x something chip, but i took the 0601, anyways, it is an N chip, dont know what that means, but it has the little "N" in the corner. Also, just flew thru 3d mark 2006 @ 3Ghz. Keeper for sure, should last me until conroe's are cheap :)

I think that you should put Roseeta @ Home on that chip. It'd be a monster. Take part in an ol' fashioned BBQ! :toast:
