My 1999 Saturn SL1 is getting close to 100,000 and it's still running strong I change the oil abour every 3,000 and do regular maintenance. I'm going to get one of those "100,000 and still going strong" license plate holders soon.

How many miles do you guys have on your odometer?

At present, my mum's '97 E55 AMG 130,000 miles. Prior to that, Porsche 928 had ~67,000 miles before it was sold. Nowadays her main car is a '05 CLK350 roadster with ~7000 miles on the clock.

Newer cars can make it to 100k without breaking a sweat anymore.

You think a '98 1.4 16v Polo will be good to 120-150k miles? Planning on getting one with 50-60k and also plan on keeping it a LONG time :D

My mom VW polo is at 68k km (divide by 1.6 to have it in miles, ok that's approx 43k miles).
My BMW has 4500km (less than 3000 miles)

My mom's polo has a bit less than 50k but there is no sign of fatigue from the engine, it's still going strong.
However, the breaks on those cars is awful. On a road slightly wet, you need to break way in advance and slowly otherwise you just slide on the road. Other than that i have nothing to complain about, it's a nice car and in paris it's way easier to park than a sedan

Dad's 89 nissan 89 sentra had 289,000 miles and was ready for more, unfortunately a delivery truck @ work backed into him and insurance declared it totaled.

I had 2 E30 325is (86 and 87) the 87 had 190k before engine seized but the chassis was immaculate. I dropped in a rebuilt 2.7 hi-flo ST racing engine and gave it to pops and he got 100k more out of it (does 100+ miles a day commuting) before his leg problems wouldnt let him drive manual tranny anymore, not to mention having close to 280hp or so at the rear wheels in snowy icy weather makes for unpleasant driving no matter how good the snow tires are or how well you weigh down the trunk.

The 90 Accord EX 5spd I have now has 175k on it and is running strong. My old college roomate had one w/ auto tranny that had 375k miles before it got stolen.

i think so far i've taken 3 cars over 200k kilometer (~125k miles that is).
a 1979 alfa romeo, a 1986 peugeout 205 grd and now a 1988 (?) vw golf (2)
gt - all with their respective first engines, gearboxes and clutches.

my dad took his own 1990 vw golf (2) to over 250k km with the first clutch,
though when i drove it once around that time, i was kinda shellshocked,
when i tried to slowly let go of the clutch(pedal)... it wouldn't budge, i went
like wtf? back to neutral, put the gear in again and just released the clutch,
like taking the foot just off it (on/off switch kinda) and then it went rolling,
lol...

so in regard of the question whether a not so old or current vw can do >125k
miles (or >200k km), i'd have to say yes. if you don't drive like a streetracer
all the time that is... i've seen cars like mine offered in the papers with
descripitions like this:

"golf gt, blablba ps, 30.000 km, 2nd clutch" - W T F????? oh, further down
in the description you'll find "lowered, blabla exhaust, bla schroth 6point belts,
blabla" ;)

76k on the TA itself, but a lot of the car is being replaced with new parts so that number is becoming more useless as time goes on.

hehe...don't plan to do any street racing, but do plan on getting a mesh front grille, "angel eye" headlamps, and some 17" momo alloys. Planning on keeping it a long time :)

VW's are generally good cars, as are Honda's.

I have driven a 1997 Peugeot 106 Diesel which had 256,000 miles on it, drove fine!

So your Polo should easily see past the 100k mark :)

130,000 miles on my '92 Ford Explorer, I'm surprised it hasn’t fallen apart yet.
25,000 on my '04 Toyota Tundra. Fairly new, and it hasn’t fallen apart taking it 4x4 yet. Just got some new Goodyear SilentArmor AT tires on my truck, cant wait to test those baby's out in the desert

Thats not that uncommon.
There is a diesel mercedes cab kickin around town here which has rolled over twice.
The guy that drives it has had it since new I think it's a 78 but i.m not sure.
And btw those Volvo semi's will do 2,000,000 plus miles before major problems.
And usually need a rebuild at about 900,000- 1 mil.
