Hey all,

After reading the threads here, I'm ready to vdd mod my 8RDA+.Currently at 1.55vdd 184fsb dual channel, so I'd like some more juice to try and reach 200fsb.

I have all the tools, parts, etc... but I was wondering where you all fixed the trimmer to after the mod was finished?

Stuck it to the side of the case?

Soldered it somewhere?

Thanks.

I stuck it to a PCI riser card then plugged that into a PCI slot.

I use wires around 6in long to the pot and then usually zip tie the wires to a nearby cap. As long as you have the three pins on the pot insulated with electrical tape, the pot can rest right on the mobo without shorting out to anything.

I try to keep everything self contained on the mobo. That way you can swap mobos without undoing the mods and even sell the mobo modded.

If I can't hit 200fsb with 1.80vdd, then I'll sell the board....

The new Soltek FRN seems to be able to hit 200fsb out the box, so I might go with that instead.I had very good experiences with their DRV2 and DRV5 boards before I upgraded to the Epox.
