Hi,

I have a power supply that i want to use for 12v loads only, so i wanted to make resistors for the 5v and 3.3v rails to stabilize the power supply ( I assume it only needs a few watts on each rail, i am not putting a heavy 12v load on it) but i am not sure what value resistors i would need to do so, or where to find them. If any one could give me an idea of what im looking for i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

A 1-Ohm 25W resistor should do fine for both :)

Bolt them to an Alu. plate to dissipate heat better.

In the UK rswww.com part 157-522 would be fine. If not in the UK look for a high power 25W wirewound resistor with a value of 1-Ohm.
