so i was out getting some random stuff the other day, and i glanced down and saw a gallon container of what else, zerex, on the shelf, all by itself

no price tag on it, so i had them check it, 5 bucks
so i bought it, despite one thing that made me question it:

on the bottle it says "50/50 pre-diluted"

i looked it up and cannot find much info on it, so what do you all think, did i get a good buy, will it work?

thanks

Says DO NOT ADD WATER heh, so I guess you'll have to experiment. It contains antifreeze as well so it will be sub-optimal compared to the Zerex Super Racing Coolant which has no antifreeze. What colour is the Zerex you bought?

one question that doesnot have nothing to do with the one up. someone knows where to buy Zerex super coolant in EU? thnks:)

it looks like its going to be greenish

it looks like you can probably dilute it a little with water since no loop requires a 50/50 mix unless youre running mixed metals.

Even with mixed metals you shouldnt really run more than 15% zerex.

i know i will be diluting it more, im just wondering if this is the right stuff

just an FYI.. this is the WRONG STUFF. this is regular antifreeze... the zerex that we use for pc cooling has absolutely no antifreeze properites to it.

Not to run this thread into another tangent, but out of curiousity, what does running more than your stated 15% or so do? Any negative effects like clogging stuff up, or just sub-optimal temperatures?

I asked Valvoline and they don't sell Zerex in Europe. You can buy it at a few stores but then it's imported.
The only resellers I know of is Over-Clock.cu.uk (http://store.over-clock.com/WaterAdditives.html) and OverClockers.se (http://www.overclockers.se/ItemInfo?itemId=34635813), I suppose they buy it fron Danger Den so other DD resellers might sell it too.

I brought 36oz (3x 12oz bottles) from dangerdenstore.com (http://www.dangerdenstore.com/product.php?productid=77&cat=54&page=1), it'll be enough for a while.

serra, slightly worse temps, and very pink water.. thats all. it will stain your tubing more doing that too.

ive never heard of zerex clogging anything, but with a high enough concentration it MIGHT be possible.

All antifreezes will WORK, but they detriment thermal capacity of water more than non-antifreeze additives. For performance, avoid additives with antifreeze properties as those properties aren't required in our systems.

Zerex Racing SuperCoolant - Purple
WaterWetter - Red
HydrX - Green
LiquidCosworth - Blue

...all anti-corrosive surface-tension reducers. Take yer pick.

what about that innovatek stuff (called innovaprotekt IP pro), got it from a friend because i filled my system on sunday and didn´t want to wait to get some water wetter. anyone knows about performance?

that´s the bottle, but i don´t know what´s in it:stick: (only that it should be mixed 1:5 with water)

call me a hater, but I generaly try to stay away from anything that has the words innovatek on it.

only have a tank-matic and this anti-corro (puh i remember on my old rev.3 which had such a bad reaction between copper and alu as it was full with a gel-like substance, also hate the other stuff but the tank-matic is cool:D )

anyway i didn´t get any temp-pumps between this stuff and water wetter so it shouldn´t be too bad anyway:rolleyes:

anyone had the same cooler called innovacool rev.3? i still remember it, all this gel stuff inside the tubing, other coolers EVERYWHERE, i´ll never buy an innovatek cooler again (only my tank:D , but it isn´t a cooler:p: ).

hmm what to say else... HATER?!

PS: is there anything against usind water wetter with uv-die? then i´ll step back on that...
